They had a whole set Paintball mask + Goggles for 35.99$ or something. It was pretty good quality too! |

If your limit for essential protection is only $30, how will you afford to even play this game?
I dont know how old you are but... expect that is will NOT be cheap, and it's only common-sense to protect your eyes decently. The mask part of the goggles can be removed in some models, or plain cut off in others. Go to a local game, get age-verified at the same time, and see what folks use. Then you will know what to get. |

Im assuming your budget isnt very high, but let me promise you this.
You want to get the best Goggles you can find, at least dual lense, thermal is nice, fan is even nicer. Hold off a few games, and save up the field fee if you need to, your probaly just going to get pissed off with fogged goggles otherwise.

What you need to do is go buy some cheap JT pb googles with face mask, then cut the mask off just to have the goggles.

Daves surplus in newwest has PB goggles for 35$. They are rated for 300 fps. Personally I wouldn't like to use them as as guns often shoot at that rate and up. but that is the best u can get for soo little.

Basically to reiterate what people have already said, they're your eyes don't cheap out. You only get one set if you have to save up for a while do it.
I've never understood the mentality of people who will spend thousands on certain things and cheap out on the protective gear, I've seen parents do it with children and bicycle helmets all the time. What are you thinking! don't put a price on basic safety. The trade-off can be huge and tragic. Last edited by sarcastro; October 8th, 2006 at 14:31.. |

I would think twice about used goggles for two reasons:
1. They could be weakened by UV or chemical exposure if not treated properly. 2. It's not my sweat in the padding...ewww.... And Sammy's right, your eyes are worth only as much as the money you spend on protecting them.

The 300fps standard in paintball was concieved with the kinetic energy of a paint projectile in mind. BBs have much less mass than a paintball, and so I would assume that the lenses can bear much more velocity in an airsoft situation.
