Shrike questions?

So, yes i have searched for the info first. Because theres allways some one whos a pain in the ass and askes that first.

But it there any simpler shrike conversions? I dont really feel like paying $700usd just for the full kit and alls i want is the upper part of the body where the belt feeds into. Can you just buy the parts off the M249 or 60 and just JB weld them on or is it harder than that?

Any info is good info

Thanks
Jeremy

Well, technically if you're going to start to mod and JB weld, you can make anything "fit" -- not sure how good it'll look though. I don't know your skill level or what equipment you have available; you could technically start machining your own parts for all know. YOU have to look at it realistically, and figure out what you can or can't do.

Pipedreams are dandy, but when you're sitting there with a bunch of parts that weren't meant to fit together and all you've got is a bottle of JBWeld and a Dremel, your day might start sucking really bad.

That being said, if you look through the gallery (dunno if it's accessible to you, I think it's become Age Verified only) someone did make a faux Shrike conversion himself, and I recall it looking pretty damn good, so it IS possible. You might want to contact the person in question (don't remember whom it was, sorry) and get info from him about what's involved.

yah, i saw his gun a while ago and it looks sweet! As for as equipment goes a work for a dealership and we have an inhouse body shop with full equipment so thats not really a problem, i just dont know what parts to buy off the M249. Im also going to look for a second body to make it off of just incase, dont want to screw up the only body i have for the gun.

Thanks for the advice.
