ICS AK 74 misfeeding.
My brother decided to upgrade his ICS Ak74 this weekend...
We changed the inner barrel for a prometheus thight bore, changed the piston and piston head for a systema, changed the spring for a prometheus non linear m110 and finaly changed the cylinder head for a prometheus one. Everything work great, the mechbox work, the problem is, that now the gun wont fire at all (no bbs come out) or some does then it stop feeding. Tried to remove each upgrade, one by one (testing the AK between each removal) but cant seem to pinpoint the problem. Any idea??? Thanks

Have you checked your tappet plate? If the end that contacts your third gear is broken the BB's can't enter the hop-up! I just went through this with my M4.And I'v found on ICS's web page, they now have a "Third gear Cam" to help with feeding problems. But it seems like a tappet plate to me,just my 2 cent's,good luck!

What type of bb's are you using? I've noticed that some bb brands do not work well with the 6.03 Prometheus barrels. AE/MetalTech seem to work fine though.
Also, remove the barrel/chamber from the gun and look down the barrel as you adjust the hop. Move the hop to minimum setting and put 1 bb in the chamber. If the bb falls through the barrel with next to no assistance, then you should be fine. If you need to push it through, or blow hard, then you have an issue with that barrel in the hop-chamber. Reinstall the stock barrel. If you kept the gears stock, you should have no issue with the tappet, unless it actually is broken. But you'll see that right away. Also, make sure you didn't damage the hop sleeve during installation. A little silicone oil both inside and out really aids in installing a new barrel.

Most likely, it's your tappet plate.
You have to make sure that your tappet plate is attached to your air seal nozzle on one end and in line with the gears on the other when you reassemble the AEG. |

Tappet plate is fine... barrely 1000 bbs. Hopup sleeve is fine to (but ordered a systema one anyway). The bbs are KFC perfect bbs .20 so i guess they are not that bad. I did put bbs in the tube and they rolled fine with no resistance.
When i pull the mag in the direction of the rear, it feed fine so i guess something can be wrong with the hopup feeding tube that connect to the mag. I will recheck the gearbox tomorrow and inspect the tappet plate and the shimming. Thanks

Perhaps on reassembly, the hop-up/barrel assembly did not get put back correctly. Look at the pictures in my review on the ICS AK and see if yours looks the same as far as installation goes.

Everything is put back as it was (and is the same as in your pictures)
Will open the gearbox and check the barrel/hopup installation again tomorrow and check everything once more... Thanks
