Law enforcement and Military that use airsoft for training

I am looking for links to proof of law enforcement and military that use airsoft for training. What I am not looking for is

"pretty sure that the Bulgarian Spec Ops use them."

I'll edit in link and group names as I find them. Please let me know if this is a double post, I couldn't find anything. I am just trying to put a list of them all together for a presentation. Thanks

not 100 % sure but i think for the most part they tend to use simunation. i have herd the us use airsoft pistols for training but i have not been able to verify that.

i have personaly talked to cops from both delta and vancouver pd and they told me that they never use airsoft for training so id assume that not many canadian pds use them. and i know the army dosnt.

The Airsoft pistol is a tool that adds realism to training, incorporating the same operating system, trigger action, dimensions, disassembly and "feel" of a Glock 22. Additionally, it fit the same holsters and equipment one would use on patrol. Using full face protection and appropriate clothing, the Airsoft pistol allowed officers to run scenarios that included realistic force decisions.

Not sure about the sources used, but it appears to be a police site/magazine.

I have a customer (purchased a propane adaptor) who is a training officer at a police acadamy. He uses several metal slide upgraded G17 GBBs as a training aid for car "pull over" scenarios. Trainees approach a car which they have notionally pulled over. They may be confronted by a simulated intoxicated driver or a domestic dispute. In some cases they may be fired upon by a driver or passenger of the car they pull over.

The scenarios teach trainees how to approach a vehicle and reduce their chances of being shot and to recognize aggressive motions.

The April 2003 issue of SWAT (magazine) had a piece about airsoft for training.

A friend of mine in the US also help set up a LE training facility which uses airsoft. I know they did something with Bail Enforcement. He's doing "other work" now and I don't think he's still involved with that, but he still has some pics of the facility on a website.

Hi guys
Services that are training at a higher level normally use simunition, as they can convert there live fire guns with adaptor kits, this lets them use their regular weapon, and it helps with training.
But I can see how Airsoft replicas can help, and they are a hell of a lot cheaper than simunition, especially the Clock 17 My fav,
Just FYI Simunition has a hell ok a kick when it hits you, it makes airsoft BB's seem like a tickle :-) I know I have used and been on the receiving end of simunition,
They tend to use dummy training weapons that have the same weight as the real weapon, when training for hand to hand etc

A friend in the reserves says they use replica weapons, except they fire 900FPS with rubber pellets o.O

the demo pl. at the training facility i was last posted at was looking into purchasing a bunch of AK's and pistols for their enemy force. i was supposed to be a liason for that, but it fell through.

The ak's and pistols used are usually the rubber ones. They have a new form of simunition in testing that doesnt need a new upper reciever and bolt. As far as airsoft in training im sorry i cant help

Being in cadets and all, I once walked in on a bunch of reserve guys doing a training thing fo entering and clearing a building, it was at mewata armouries, they were using training guns that shot "soft" plasic pellets at around 750-900 FPS. The pellets were actualy really "mushy", extreamly soft... It was wierd actualy, probly might not hurt much...

thats where the low power of airsoft comes in handy. Id hate to train on a car and get hit in the face by simunition from 3 feet away...airsoft on the other hand, isnt that bad.

When using simunition you have to wear a protective head mask armour and the whole nine yards. For those who dont know simunition is a plastic projectile with paint in it. like a super high speed paintball

and can be, with modification, fired from actual firearms.
