information on a custom build

i am looking for any information and ideas that might be floating around for building a force lance from the sci-fi series andromeda its going top be more of a show peace then a p[lay piece but i want it to work as a play piece meaning its going to need to be able to fire a few rounds

general dimensions
1 foot in length
from 1 side to the other of the open part be about an inch

the trigger is going to be a butt-en much like those used on gun mounted flashlights and laser

any one got any ideas on how to make it i would love to hear them its just i don't know internals all that well and its better to find out internals info from the pros

i was thinking gbb internals

I really don't see how thats... well maybe. In theory you could take apart a GBB and use its parts, but youd have to change the entire feeding system, not to mention where the gas comes from. You might be better off using an auto electric pistol, but even then... i really cant see this happening.

EDIT

He wants to make one of these that fires BBs...

Looks like a dildo to me... wait a min, dildos and airsoft... talk to Aqua, I believe he has some experience in this area.

I think a AEP would be your best bet. You could also use a 203 shell if you only wanted one shot with it.

well traditional the force lance is a pistol so making a clip (yes clip) of ammo that's only about 25 or so rounds built in to it was more the plan the round issue it the easy est i have been able to over come and so far its a modded cross man mag(for mostly prototype purposes) that i plan to use(by modded i mean i buzzed off over half the mag to make it just a small stick that can be slapped in the back and a pin that feeds it into a chamber and to an inner firing tube that sticks out my issue is i got no power to fire

what aep had the smallest internals and can easily accept a solenoid as a trigger unit(solenoid fires and Sims trigger pull makes it more accessible for a push button fire

all help on this is appreciated as for why i used cross man to make my clip/stick mag is because its the cheapest last thing i wanna do is buy a 60 dollar mag cut it and then learn its not going to work at least later i can find a mag or make one that will work better using shitty stuff for overcoming hurtle 1 getting it to fire never mind last

I think the BB holding part could be a pen tube or something with a spring at the end. then have a small bent L to feed into the loading nozzel of the gun. This way you can keep the shape of the thing stright without having to compensate interms of looks.

Actually a TM shotty shell would probably work. Holds 30 BBs and is small enough to fit.

that means the front would come off insert shell and then the front gose back on and its ready to go???

as for the pen tube thing that's what the diced up cross man springer mag is at this time but that's easy ti fix

but the internals are still up in the air as i dont know the smallest but i know the internals must include the ability for a push button firing

like those buttons used in grip switches for lasers and flashlights

small note a springer is not an option

and if the entire thing can fit in just the front i can make it fully applicable(counter weight and expendable into a lance)

Modding a GBB will be almost impossible for this project. A GBB requires recoil to cycle the next round and racking of the slide to chamber the first. In order to hide the recoil you would have to cover up the 'slide' of the butcherd gun, which would make chambering the first round difficult to say the least. All the slide issues apart how would you expect to get around the gas in the mag?

My advice;

Most realistic option:
Hack one of these up. Have the back section of the grip screw off to insert the shells, have a push putton on the back as the trigger. If you want to get fancy rig up the shell to be loaded in the front (a la AK series launchers) and have the push button on the top.

Best Idea for a mag style:
Take the action from a gas sniper rifle. The mags are generally small, the design of the action is liniar and cylindrical. Down side is you have to rack it each shot, but its a gas gun, you only need to cycle it the length of two BB's or so. It wouldnt be all that hard to hack up a KJ M700 to work, dress up a sliding ring to cycle it all si-fi like.

I would go for the first option, far far far easier and cooler to shoot.

it cant be reloaded every shot

as for the cycling might be an issue

umm but the harder part is understanding your idea any schimatical ideas

as for the butten it needs to be just south of the light induser(its a bunch of crystals at the front just befor the tip that fires in the diagram theres a butten for something

note when i get this baby working i plan on publishing the skimatic and or selling them with custem holsters

What's a force lance exactly? Kinda looks like a light saber hilt.

its a weapon from the tv show Andromeda it goes to a full staff not a quarter 6 foot staff fires smart bullets has a flashlight built into it

likely the best one to make it is an electric gun there for i can use the battery to power up the flash crystals and the light emitting diode crystal(huge led with a hole in the middle

ultimately battery power means i can give it all the bells and whistles minis the extending part

all features of a force lance
long range taser shot(lightly powered lightning gun)
smart bullet firing
anti artillery
anti missile
flashlight and flash lamp
flash bang light blast(flash bang with out the bang)
extends to a 6 foot staff
gas firing grappler(like a grappling hook)
DNA locks(makes it so only the locking user can use it)
shock security measure(used with DNA lock)
and if ya really get desperate grenade(overload)

Wait...you mean a long staff? As in a 3.6-5.4 meter staff? Because a quarter staff is 1.8-2.7 meters long. Either Kuraitenshi is right or that is one helluva staff to fighting with.

Just thought I'd throw that out. Continue...

I cant see an electric design working... at least not from any butchured guns available... TM's AEP series uses the grip to house parts of the mech, I wouldnt want to try and straighten that out and make it work. Unless you get creative with a lathe and a mill and a horizontal GBB design of your own, I cant see you going any other option than the two I described above.

If you REALLY need it to be semi auto, my best advice would be to take the action from a gas bolt action sniper and rig up an electric cocking mechanism with either a servo or selenoide... but your really getting out of my area of expertise then.

What you essencially are asking is to have a P90 (V6?) Mechbox squeezed into a 2 inch pipe. An electric design isnt going to give you any kind of usable FPS. A gas design is about your only chance of having this shoot at a respectable FPS. Every gameable pistol design is essencially an L shape (sideways). That isnt going to work for you, if you try to make it fit your basically going to have to build everything yourself, in that case why not just design it all on its own. Trying to make an AEP work is going to be even harder. Either a grenade launcher design or a bolt action are about your only available resources (that I can think of) for this project, both are (without a significant amount of custom work) are single shot at best. Even the bolt action idea is stretching it as far as size goes...
