small KSC G18c problem (screw under sight)

Hi.

I've just purchased a G18c, and I've replaced it with a metal slide. Everything went smooth, except I can't get the screw underneath the sight to go back in. It'd go in half way, and I can't seem to get it in anymore. I've tried to put the screw in just by itself in the slide, and it works, but once I put all the internals into it, the screw doesn't seem to go in. I'm not sure if it is the tool I'm using, which is just a small screwdriver, that works for unscrewing it, or something w/ the slide that I have to tamper with. Any insight would be great.

Also, For now, I've ignored the screw, and put everything back together. When I release the slide forward, it doesn't seem to snap forward like the plastic one. Will that be fixed when I get a new recoil spring? or is that just how it is, or something I have done wrong?

Thanks!

A new recoil spring is highly recommended.

When I installed the metal slide on mine, with the stock rod & spring there wasn't enough power in the blowback to return the slide to battery. Didn't find out until the middle of a firefight...which ended rather badly.

You need to make sure that part#258 is properly inserted into place. I believe the gap should be facing towards the left, which is where the screw passes through.

A new recoil spring should help; otherwise, a good lube job should do the trick. Make sure that the blowback chamber is tight and secure within the slide.

You might also want to check to see if the barrel is interfering with the slide action.

I believe you guys are talking about the screw under the rear site on the inside of the slide right? But what size allen key do you need for the little hex screw undernearth the rear site? I'm having trouble with that. Any help would be great! Thanks!

If you bought your gun new, it would've come in the box, it is a tiny little allen key.
