Dishonesty or Bad Memory?

Okay, this is not a rant, but I'm going to express my frustration to people borrowing gear and not returning it. In the last month, I have lost 2 highcaps, one lowcap, a 8.4/2400 battery, and a pair of PMI goggles (I know who has these, and if he doesn't return them without my asking, I'll be posting your name in this thread). I will lend out my gear to those who are in need, but it seems some people can't show the decency of returning that which is not thier own. I have just had 3 other people tear my entire house apart looking for these mags and battery, but to no avail. No, I don't remember who I loaned these to, and I don't expect to see them returned. Yes, I should remember who I loan my kit out to, but one would think that the person who asked for the loan of the kit would also have the respect to return it without having to be asked. Maybe it was an oversight on the persons who borrowed, but maybe not. I can say all this, because I'm not accusing anyone of anything here. If, in the off chance anyone remembers having any of my kit, I'd appreciate it back. And to think, just today, I was telling someone how honest and mature most people in this sport are. I'm no longer willing to lend out any manner of kit, so if you are offended by refusal, plz don't ask.

thats sucks, hopefully all will get returned, although i cant say im surprised some people are idiots. possibly in the future charge them a return fee, car keys or somthing to make sure you get your kit back.

Collateral my friend.

Driver's Licence, or other gov't ID for when you're at the game and they say they will return it before leaving. For a long term borrow, consider a watch, belt or something similar that they normally have on them and will notice the lack of. Stay away from expensive items and currency.

Car keys are sketch because it makes you responsible for the vehicle and that means liability.

Cash always leads to disputes eventually.

Sign out book. Simple, small, makes you remember who, makes them responsible for it.

Sorry to hear about your losses , one thing I always liked about this game / sport is the way people help each other out . This kind of thing doesnt help the game. I remember somewhere back that you also lost a pistol did you ever recover that?
Come on guys return his stuff.

His pistol turned up, it got put in the wrong gearbag after the user played with it in the room the gear was stored in.

Then why bother playing airsoft? We might as well all just quit this untrustful game.

I've always been that way too, i actually make a point of taking better care of borrowed stuff than my own because not only does it proves to them that you respect their stuff, i believe how you treat your own property and the property of others actually can tell some one about you as a person.

That kind of decreases any chance of getting the now exploded item back.....

The remote detonators reminds me of an old PC game... Meat Puppet. If you didn't complete your objective within a specified amount of time a device implanted in your body would go off... I believe it was called Colonic Detonation. @_@

Atreyu, sorry to hear that your generosity has been taken advantage of. I've had similar problems myself with other items... DVDs, CDs, etc. It seems that there are just some people who don't feel the urgent need to return things even if they've been loaned in good faith. I like Stalker's suggestion of a sign out book - if not for the loanee to sign, then at least for your own reference at a later time. Sometimes it's easy for the loaner to become distracted and forget about items too.

Take it easy...

Alan.
