head over to the reviews section and look up any of the G&P guns...of check the "best aeg" thread. G&P M4/M16 guns are all basically the same except for barrel length and looks. so i would expect the G&P M16A3 to be like any other G&P product(and no, im not gonna tell you about G&P products, there is enough info in the treads i have mentioned.

I know a guy who swears by G&P's. You can tune them out of the box to shoot with the best.

I had the chance to work on a new CQB/R this weekend and here's what I found as changes to the new G&P internals:

1) They have a new cylinder and cylinder head. They use to use what looked like Prometheus and the old cylinder and head had a rough, matted finish. The new cylinder is a smooth "brass" finish with a smooth cylinder wall. This should keep compression much more uniform and shots more consistant. The old cylinder head had this same finish and this caused the air-seal nozzle to be a little too tight. This was a killer of tappet plates. The new one looks like it's stainless steel perhaps and it fits the nozzle WAY better than the old set-up.

2) The tappet is no longer the red Aramide Prometheus clone they were using. It is a black Aramide one this time and it looks well moulded.

3) The spring guide is a smooth steel one now vs. the matted finish of the old one. Who know what difference that really makes, but whatever.....

4) The motor was still an EG700. DEA was talking about G&P changing to the EG1000, but since their exit, who knows........

The gun was well shimmed and lubed, so service life should be good. All other things were the same as on previous G&P guns I've worked on. This gun was built to shoot around 360ish FPS and should do so for a long time.

One thing to note however, the G&P crane stocks DO NOT use Dean's plugs. They use a "look-alike", but I assure you it is not a Dean's plug. I would replace these with the actual Dean's plugs. The fit was horrendous and the did not fit well with the real Dean's plugs. But this is a $4 item from any hobby shop and easy to change. That was the only beef I had with this gun.

I like the damn things so much I bought another one.
