G3KA4 AEG... Does it exist?
Out of pure curiosity I set off looking for a G3A4/G3KA4 AEG or possibly a conversion kit for the CA real steel G3, yet have found nothing conclusive, especially amongst Canadian retailers.
So I extend this search to any of you Canadian Airsofters who may be interested; Do you know of anyone who has such a gun or has converted a G3? Beyond that, I wonder how far certain parts of the G3s/MP5s might go to be interchangable with a bit of careful effort (and a suicidal regard for one's paycheques :-) )? Any advice with regards to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Also, to those of you on the noob watch, I have read all of the noob guides and have lurked for a while reading all sorts of things before posting to make sure I wouldnt run out and ask a stupid or irritating question right off the bat. Here's thanks to you all in advance, -syne |

finding an A4 may be a kicker.
But as you said, its a question of compatibility between the G3 reciever and the Mp5 stocks. Im interested in what people have to say also. |

hmm, it may fit, i know i have an endcap from a G3 sitting here, and it looks to be about the size of my mp5k i used to have. If you have an mp5 and wanna try ill sell you the endcap its for a retractible stock, i just dont have the stock.

The real thing does exist, used to have one and deeply regret ever selling it.
It would be a far beefier mount than the MP5. |

Hmm. That's what I was worried about. Too bad.
Well, perhaps age verification will open up a few gateways to the grand prize. A G3 with CQB capabilities! What fun. Regardless of the complications, I'll keep up my search. Perhaps one of the conversion nuts might like to attempt this? I dare not try such things myself until I have garnered plenty of experience in handling AEGs. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and my piggy-bank in one piece! |

There's a G3KA4 in the gallery somewhere with an Aimpoint atop it. Looks pretty neat. My advice would be to wait until CA releases their SAR Taktik II Rifle, have a competent gunsmith rewire the gearbox to the foregrip, add the collapsible buttstock, and replace the outer barrel with the flash suppressor that comes with the SAR Offizier M41FS. If you take the TM route you'll be very disappointed with the creak and flex of the plastic receivers and sink more money into a metal body that will give you no end of frustration.

Find a retailer in Canada with it in stock? Ha! Oh man do you have an uphill battle infront of you. You need a place that can do a specialty order or something. That is, if it can even be found.
I remember when MFI had their G3A4. Pretty nifty. I dunno, though. Would it be gauche to just get a TM "G3 SAS" and replace the front half from a regular TM "G3"? |

FYI, eHobbyAsia has (or did at one point) TM G3 collapsible stock assemblies for like $60. Proper G3 stocks with the two pin endcap and convex buttplate. An MP5 stock won't fit since it's held on with one pin, and I imagine the receiver profiles are different.
