KSC Glock 17 problem, expels all gas in one shot

Hello.

Please excuse my lack of proper terminology first and foremost.

I have here a month old KSC Glock 17 which was purchased from SpecArms (sorry Miles! ) which cannot get through a single mag without the gas valve hammer getting stuck and expelling all the gas. I know it's not a problem with the mag because I've tried two others mags and get the same thing.

The gun will be taken apart on the wknd to inspect for possible damage, my question is do you guys have any suggestions on what to look for or what the problem may be?

Thanks!

Hmm after a more specific search I found this, I guess that'll be the first thing I try.

Still if you've got another idea I'd love to hear about it.

Buy some 10 weight silicon oil (ask for "RC SHock Oil" at the hobby shop), and take your slide off. You will see the hammer and in front of it the 'firing pin', the part that extends forward to depress the valve on the mag. Put a drop of oil on either side of the axle for that firing pin, some on either side of the hammer, and some on the little rounded thing that sticks up from the frame near the hammer. Then put your thumb in front of the hammer, pull the trigger and let the hammer come to rest on your thumb, cock the hammer, press the little rounded thing (it resets the firing pin). Do that repeatedly about a dozen times to work the oil in. That should fix your problem completely. It's a common problem, and super easy to avoid.

Does the slide at lease blow back after the first shot?

The times I've experienced it (twice I think) and others that have had the same problem (and were fixed with that info), some have released the gas first shot (without cycling the slide), other times have cycled the slide and fired off the first shot or maybe two, then the gas would expel fully.

CDN_Stalker thanks for the tip, unfortunately I do not have any silicon oil around but will get some for the wknd and will update this thread then. I'm glad to hear that's a common problem and that the fix is easy.

WhatTheWho when the hammer valve gets stuck, the slide does not blow back all the way and gets stuck at the beginning. I taek it it's an issue you've suffered from too?

I've never had the problem, but I've heard of many people having this same problem as well; I find that a few people have their flow valves in the blowback chamber broken.

Well here's an update.

Unfortunately after lubing up that part I still get the same issue. I'm not sure what the problem may be so I took a few pictures, perhaps you guys can see something that I don't.

The second picture shows a Glock 18C at the top and the Glock 17 at the bottom.

I've been looking to solve almost the same problem for a while now with my 26C.

It used to not fire at all, and just blow all the propane out on the first shot, and the slide would jam, regardless of firing mode. Since replacing the entire hammer assembly with one from a near-mint 18C, it works perfectly on semi auto.. however, on fullauto, it only manages to shoot a couple shots (if lucky.... usually it's only one shot), at which point the slide blows off the frame on the left side (I've noticed it's always the left side, the side that says G26C MIL SPEC) and all the gas expells.

Let me know if you manage to fix your problem, or if you find any useful information about it. I'm at the end of my string. :banghead:

Good luck, and thanks in advance:!:
