Zeke Metal Slide & Barrel for TM G26, anyone else has this?

HI I just bought the Zeke G26 metal kit straight from Den Tri when I went HK last week.

Personally I thought Zeke had a good reputation and produced steel metal kits but after hearing people rave about the Guarder steel G26 kit, and inspecting my Zeke one and realizing it is Aluminium which also was rusty and did not look very glamrous when I first saw it, I would like to know if anybody has the Zeke G26 kit installed on their TM G26 and would like to hear a second opinion.

Btw Steel metal kits are fucking solid and so are aluminium slides at a definite disadvantage besides lighter hence faster cycling? I thought Zeke metal kits were steel, quite disappointed. Still pricey too.

ANyway getting my friend to remove the rust on my Zeke slide and try to clean it up then Ill see how it looks then

Odd that you'd find rust on an aluminum slide, it takes quite a bit of persuasion and neglect to get aluminum to corrode appreciably. Where is it corroded?

Steel is nice but you're quite correct about the cycle speed. Hi flows and strong recoil springs are a must with heavy weight slides.

When I purchased it at Den Tri it was already rusty but I was not able to see it clearly because it was wrapped up in a Zeke Ziplock-like bag. It was noly when I took it out to look did I see the whole slide had a orange hue to it.

Well the rust can be removed but it was not a good first impression. Maybe Den Tri left it there for a few donkey years?

Dirty orange you can call it. Dont think its steel, on the packet cover itself theres a word ZEKE ALUMI metal kit, etc etc.. Forgot the exact words as I threw away the packet, but the words ALUMI were big and clear/

Regardless, aluminum rusts white and never any shade of orange. Wherever that rust is coming from it's from a steel component, or it may not even be rust at all. Hard to say without actually seeing it.

Yeah I know. I will ask my friend to take a closer look at it and tell me his verdict. Aluminium alloy? I heard most Zeke products are made of those.
