Unhappy Unknown slide issue, gets stuck after slide goes back on GBB pistol

So I recently got an EMG STI/TTI JW3 2011 Combat Master and it had been firing fine, so today when I tried firing again (now with a tracer attached if it matters), the slide started to have problems.

Whenever I would fire (both with bbs and without) it would fire but then the slide wouldn't go back forward ( https://imgur.com/a/KD1fSKV ). The slide was stuck in place and I had to push it forward with a lot of force.

Another thing is, this problem doesn't happen when I lean the pistol to the side ( https://imgur.com/a/Y3qe5Pw - notice how I'm not holding the pistol vertically). This is a video of that happens when I hold the pistol vertically - https://imgur.com/a/chC6ldV ). It should of slide back further to be at the slide lock, but instead it only slid back so far ( https://imgur.com/a/bZwEc8p ) and the slide was stuck (had to force it back into position).

This problem also only happens when I have a magazine inside the pistol, and I have tried 2 other identical magazines but the same problem occurs (I have also made sure the magazines were filled with green gas) When I don't have a magazine in, the slide slides just fine without getting stuck.

Although the videos I added don't show the actual firing of bbs, the exact same problem occurs when firing a bb. It fires, goes back, then gets stuck.

Why is this happening? It was firing fine for the past few days and is pretty much brand new. What can I do to fix this? If you need more pictures or videos of the problem lmk.

P.S. I'm kind of a newbie at airsoft pistols so please explain thoroughly.

Can you dry fire / shoot while holding slide release down? Does it work?

Unhappy

I just tried dry firing / shooting while holding slide release down, but it made no difference at all. Slide still went back but then got stuck.

Dumb question:

If it's new, have you tried lubricating it?

> Silicon oil (or you can go find RC Shock oil 30WT or 15WT)
>> Plastic parts, springs

> White Lithium grease https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/p...3713p.html#srp

9000 videos on youtube on maintaining gas blow back pistols, here's one I made 4 years ago lmao

Very dumb question possibly, but could phil wood bike grease ( https://phil-wood-co.myshopify.com/p...erproof-grease ) be a replacement for white lithium grease?

Another question is: if lubing it doesn't fix the problem, what should I do then?

Also, is it possible that the slide could be catching onto the outer barrel? If so, what can I do to fix it?

Sorry for the barrage of questions lol.

White lithium grease is relatively stable and doesn't destroy non-metal materials like plastics and rubber parts. Research what the base of your grease is made with and if it's safe for rubber seals and plastics.

slide sticking

Some brand new pistols have casting "flashings" on the frame (usually the lower) that can be skimmed over and knocked down flat with a fine flat file. If there's any up and down slop in the slide with the mag out see if the slide pushes up when the mag is inserted.

Also see if the piston in the slide is free moving when you apply some push pressure on it.

If you can remove the piston check the casting of the slide where the piston lives and see if there's metal flashing or debris that might be snagging on or hanging up the piston from freely travelling when the inserted mag pressure is against it.

Sometimes the metal in the blowback housing can wear from the hammer digging in or gouging it's own path and this can also cause drag or hangups so make sure this is also lubed.

I would also consider checking the piston seal to make sure you are getting good gas efficiency or lots of blowby if it's lots of blowby then I'd swap the seal. Chronoing the pistol or doing the bottom of a pop can test should indicate approx per shot velocities. Generally speaking it's one, two or third shot punch thru depending on the pistol make, model and gas used.

And finally, if it's still under warranty get yurself another one
