HFC T77 or KWC CO2 Mini Uzi

Looking to get a gas blowback SMG for plinking. I've owned a Mac 11 before but no longer have it due to the gunsmith who was working on it disappearing of the face of the Earth, so I would like something new. These two seem to be the readily available options.

I know that the KWC has insane power and guzzles gas like there's no tomorrow and also comes with full trades. Don't know much about the HFC although redwolf says it's nice. Would like to hear comments from owners or those who handled and used them. Especially interested whether it's better to stick with CO2 usage on the Uzi or use the mags adapted to use with regular gas.

Any hands on feedback is appreciated!

I've owned the KWC UZI myself and must say that it's a great gun... for about 2 mags. The seal in the mag that I had froze up and warped. After that, the mag didn't work anymore. I had the same issue with the WE CO2 mags. My personal opinion is that you should stay away from CO2 unless you're ready to deal with some big headaches and modifications.

Pff, CO2 is fine, you just have to pay more attention when your performing maintenance. I just ordered the Shooters design piston head for the Hi-capa which fits in the KWC uzi.

So you’re saying that you need to do maintenance work on the mags after each time you shoot all the ammo out of it? That doesn't sound right. What am I missing from the picture here?

I have a KWC Mini Uzi, too. If you only want to plink, this is the ultimate full auto GBB for it, IMO; it's accurate, it has power, and feels awesome to shoot. KWC seemed to have had a "realistic" (compared to a M11 or AEG) shooting experience in mind more than skirmishability when they designed it.

The Hi-Capa piston mod is a MUST; without it, it's hard to empty a mag of BBs using consecutive short bursts, nevermind letting fly the whole thing in full auto. I went for the Shooters Design piston, myself, very easy mod if you follow the instructions on Arny's - took me about 10 minutes, start to finish. I can now get almost 2 mags out using a lot of long bursts.

Unfortunately, I blame issues like what Avenging Angel experienced on poor documentation coming with the guns. For one, a drop of lube (silicone oil, or Crosman "Pelgun Oil" or similar products) should be applied to the CO2 cartridge (on the area that gets pierced) before use. Also, once the CO2 cartridge IS pierced, it shouldn't be left for too long (i.e., many hours) - the CO2 is extremely cold and will eventually freeze and damage the seal.

It's also pricier to operate, because of the CO2 cartridges. And if you plan on skirmishing it, you'll need gas adapters etc, incuring even more cost.

The HFC T77 looks like it would be similar to M11s, given it takes the same mags. You've had an M11, so you know what to expect. But it's metal and it's inexpensive.

Oh also, "full trades" on the Uzi doesn't mean that much. "Mini Uzi 9mm", " I M I " and a serial number, on the rear left side of the receiver, although that's all that appears on real Mini Uzis (I looked it up), and you do get a unique serial number apparently, which is kinda cool.

Thanks for the replies guys, just the kind of info I wanted. Looks like the KWC Mini Uzi is a better choice for me.

Where can I find a Shooters Design piston head and what's the associated cost? (I am located in GTA)

Umm no, I never do, I lubricate the mags once in a while, and the bolt of the gun etc. Just simple shit, but what were you doing for maintenance?

Illusion had some pistons in stock, last time I checked his thread. I got mine off him, actually. The SD one even comes with a spare O-ring, should the original get worn out.

Heh, I didn't do anything for maintenance because the seal in the mag FROZE and DEFORMED after only uzing 2 CO2 cartridges after I had taken it out of the box. I Shot the 2 mags in about 20 minutes and all the gas just started spewing out of the mag after I loaded up more fresh cartridges. Maybe I got a dud?

Where would be the best place to buy the KWC Uzi? Who might have some stock in Canada, or is it a special order...?

Cheers!

Maybe I'm missing something - but a search for this item on ALL forums showed up this post only as listing this item...Shoudn't that show any sales out there - if there are any?
