Mag pouches
Okay, hopefully this question doesn't turn out to be as dumb as I'm afraid it is.
I'm looking to buy mag pouches, but I'm not really sure about sizes. The main issue is that everything I look at seems to be described in terms of how many C7/M16 mags fit, but, seeing as I don't have an M16, I have no idea how they compare with G36 mags - which is obviously what I do have. Can anyone let me know how they compare?

Well a triple M-16 mag pouch will hold 2 G36 mags clamped. And a double M-16 pouch will hold a single G36 mag. Double AK mag pouches also hold 2 clamped G36 mags but they are usualy too deep. Neither are very ideal solutions for the G36 mags but they'll work *OK*.
I got fed up and got some proper G36 mag pouches made for me by Dropzone Tactical here in Edmonton, they're freakin great. If you don't mind spending the money he might still have some left in a few different colors/patterns. |

Could make your own if you have any sewing skills, I'm really cheap (read: student) and was in need of G3 mag pouches (I cant find them anywhere!), so I made some patterns, bought some 1000D cordura off of ebay, and used my moms old sewing machine when I went home for spring break and made it. It would be better if professionally made, but for what (poor) skills I have, its damn good in my opinion.
Of course CADPAT and other camo patterns aernt easy to find in cloth, most of my stuff is just black anyway so it works for me, if you dont mind using OD material that is easy enough to find as well. |
