Power Sniper setup?
Hey guys, just wondering what would be the most powerful, and accurate sniping platform with upgrades? i plan to do some competition shooting with the gun so i need something that can shoot the farthest and the most accurate.
My thoughts for a spring powered rifle would be like an ASP2-ex with max ups. But for gas? which would be best? Reason for gas is faster reloading. But if upgraded spring blows it away ill just stick to spring. Any thoughts? |

Get a crossman 1077. They are semi .177 cal pellet. They work on C02.
Reasons: More accurate Faster rof Cheaper ($109 vs $1000) Unless you plan to use this competition gun for airsofting. |

What do you mean by competition shooting, exactly? Specify your need and then what makes sense for upgrades will follow.
If you expect to compete against folks with real rifles, or even air rifles, forget it right now. There is no way that you can make an airsoft gun shoot in the same hole at the same range than a rifled-barrelled gun. |

Well, basically i own a few crosman rifles already, however i like the realistic feel to airsoft rifles, i wouldnt be using the rifle for too many games because of the high power, i would have to be a longer distance away, therefore not shooting a bb into someones chest lol.
In any case the "competition shooting" as i called it lol, is basically a bunch of buddies and myself hike in the woods, find a clearing, set up some empty beer bottles, pop cans, target papers, and just got nuts for the afternoon, i just want to get a really powerful-long ranged, accurate rifle that doesnt require a hernia to cock the rifle lol. Which is why im leaning towards gas, however im unsure of gas upgrades and such. Ive been looking around already (i played airsoft before this, just not with a sniper rifle) but couldnt find too many helpful sites when it comes to upgrading gas gun's power into its max range (withought breaking the gun of course). I was looking at the Tanaka M700 Take Down version and liked it because of its portability ,however i am unsure of aftermarket barrels (inner/outer) that are available, and any other upgrade for htat matter. I was also thinking of the Tanaka M24 SWS, looked pretty sweet. I noticed that most of the gas (hfc134a/hfc22) are all around the 300-400 fps range. Are there upgrades to improve the velocity? I was also going to use Straight .43g metal covered bb's to use. seems like those are hte heaviest rounds. I need the gun to be able to have the highest velocity possible so that it would break a beer bottle from a significant distance away, and also a gun that would be accurate enough to hit it. On a separate note from my experience with pellet rifles, im what you would call "decent" at zero'ing scopes and such, i just need to find a good gun platform that would do all this. I dont mind paying for the airsoft gear either, i much prefer it than pellet rifles lol. |

The Tanakas are a good choice, same with the KJ M700 although barrels are difficult for them because they use an AEG style rather than the Tanaka's proprietary one. On airsoftretreat.com in the Sniper's Perch you will find a ton of info about converting these guns to external gas, allowing the use of HPA and regulated CO2 for supreme high velocities and very consistent accuracy.
FYI you are allowed 785.5 fps with a 0.20g (5.7J) before it becomes a firearm. |

thanks guys, ill check out that site Shuridys, thanks man.
If i were to upgrade it to be able to shoot the way i want it to i wouldnt be using it in games, id be afraid to seriously hurt someone, i just want it to fool around with in the bush. |

And if you arent flaming then good lol, i dont understand what you are going to "Tear me a new hole" about......the fact that me and some buddies go and shoot random shit in the woods? OOOOHhhhhhh nooooooo, Social activity! RUN AWAY lol. Whatever. |

Now if you want to get a criminal record, I cant stop you. Speaking as an experienced person with real firearms, you are going to be Extremely Disappointed with airsoft real fast. They are NOT accurate, period. Converting one to shoot that hard is EXPENSIVE, like in well over $1000... But never mind that. If you do get caught with an airsoft gun elsewhere than an authorized field, expect to get arrested. Dont kid yourself, it happened less than a month ago. Learn to repeat "Want fries with that?" a lot, because your future career choice will be near zero. Oh, and learn to forget guns exist after being caught with one. |
