KWA Glock 18C fire selector question
When is it best to switch between Full-Auto and Semi? Is it when the slide is in its rear position but wont that load another BB if I pull the slide back after firing on a mode like 2 times then pulling the slide and switching between modes?

- when gun is in safe, pull slide back and choose fire mode (semi or full)
- when gun is in fire mode (semi or safe) it is ok to switch to the other fire mode - when gun is in safe (middle position of fire sellect) do not switch to fire mode while the slide is still in battery position (slide forward), you must pull slide back then switch |

By the way, when you switch from semi to full auto, you are first changing the gun to safe mode, then to the other firing mode... (Safe is the middle setting, remember?) So really, you are switching it from semi, to safe, to auto... and according to your last post, you aren't supposed to switch the selector from safe to a fire mode without the slide being in it's backward postion... :-? :banghead:  I'm not trying to be a bitch, I actually need to understand I have a KSC Glock 26C and have been wondering about this myself for a while now... Thanks

Pull back the slide and hold it in the locked back position by pushing up on the slide locker and releasing the slide so the slide locker holds it back. Now turn the selector switch to the desired setting, semi or full. Now release the slide, which chambers a BB. The trigger will now have moved from the rear position to shooting position. Pull the trigger if on semi or hold the trigger on full auto to let those BBs fly, until you run out when the slide locks back, letting you know your out of BBs.

now to answer your question about chaning the fire select while the slide is in battery. If your slide is in battery position while in safe, where as you pull the slide back, chooose safe, then release the side; then you should not change to semi or auto. The reason is the mechanisim kinda locks the gun in safe mode and changing the fire select from safe will put more wear on the parts. If your slide is in battery postion while in a fire mode (semi or auto), where as you pull the slide back, choose a fire more (semi or safe), then release the side. Under this condition you can easily and safely change fire modes from semi to auto and/or from auto to semi. This will nto put additional wear on the fire select parts. Bottom line, if it's moderatly hard to change fire modes pull the slide back, if it's easy to change fire modes then your good to go. Hopefully this is better explained. let me know if you get it or not. |
