Anyone know if this is available? Real Steel part is prefered

Heres the Finsihed rifle, its an M1A SOCOM II, VERY nice rifle 8-)

it doesnt exist yet but G&P got the SOC16 conversion kit....

Flash hider is the same and kit "looks" like it a bit.

I love the external bit of the barrel is ventilated, reminds me of a spas shotgun.

I was actually just reading a review of this gun last night, and the reviewer said that muzzle flash depended entirely on ammo used. Wicked gun, to be sure.

From my own experience, short barrel equals huge flash. The flash is caused by burning powder and escaping gas, so what ammo would it be that makes a difference one way or the other? You could underload your ammo to reduce the flash, but then it's not really different ammo, is it?

edit- I just spoke with someone who owns one of these (yes, a real socom16) and he confirmed what I said.

All that aside, still a cool piece :nod:

In General a shorter barrel means more muzzle flash.I had 6" cut of one of my Rem 700s in .308Win (From 26" to 20") and there is quite a bit of muzzle flash now.

Under loading (reducing powder charges) can be as dangerous as loading over the advised Maximum loads published in the manuals.

To eliminate flash, you would have to try different flash suppressors, different ammo, or different powders if you are a reloader.Some powders ahve more "flash" then others.Most Military powders have a flash retarder mixed in the powder.

The best flash suppressor at this time is the Smith Enterprises Vortex Flash suppressor.It virtually eliminates all of the flash.I have used one on my 11.5/10.5" AR15s for years and I can atest that they do work. :-D
