HELP!! AK47 PROBLEM!!
Hello, I have a problem with my marui ak47. i just got an eg1000s motor and have installed it correctly, thought when i try to shoot it, the bb's just roll out. so i opened up the gearbox, and found that the spring guide snapped. and it doesn't look like it broke recently either, so i dont know for sure if that is the problem. PLEASE ANY INSIGHT AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING WOULD BE MUCH APRECIATED. thank you.

Replace the spring guide, then take it from there. Pretty much common sense.

Broken internals usually cause more of the same... I'd have it thoroughly inspected by a pro before even plugging your battery in again.

As I mentioned in the pm, is it loading the bb's properly? does it fire once and stop, can you do full auto and still have the bb's "roll" out? Does it only fire in Semi? Hop up on or off?

If you tell folks your location (Canada is big) there may be an expert near you if you need more help.
Why did you change the motor? Was anything else ever changed in the gun? If yes, exactly what? |

i changed the motor because the eg700 started to get progressively weaker until finally it stopped working alltogether. the hopup was all the way down(i do this with all first time upgrades to make sure everything is working properly, just goes smoother when i do it), the bb's are loading properly, it fires both full and semi, but the bb's just roll right out of the barrel.
no, i have never touched any of the internals until now, after things started to go wrong. the only thing external thing i have done is put real wood on it. |

Personally I'd like to see pictures of the spring guide. I would be under the impression you broke it when re-installing back into the mechbox. Also if the BB's are rolling out you have a severe air loss problem. If you did damage the spring guide (how I don't know) maybe you caused damage to the air nozzel. Can you provide photos? If not go see someone that knows what they are doing. If your winging it your only going to cause more damage. Right now it's too hard to tell what you may or may have not done.

i didn't break it when i was puttin back into the mechbox because i opened it up and i found half of it at the back where it was supposed to be and the other half in the cylinder. will try to post pics soon. how would it damage the air nozel tho the spring guide is plastic. i thought the air nozzel was metal.

A stock air nozzle in an AK is plastic, as with all Marui guns ... if I'm not mistaken. I know for a fact the AK comes with a plastic one.

yeah they're all plastic from what i've seen. sounds like maybe broken tappet and/or nozzle to me. if a part of that spring guide impacted the tappet during motion, it could break it, although i have never seen this happen specifically as the guide would have to leave the confines of the spring to do any real damage. i have seen broken tappets that will cause this same problem, but you should see the nozzle not moving if you turn the gun upside down and fire a couple of shots in semi. considering that your spring guide is already broken, that may be risky.

Honestly, go see a local expert with it. There are too many things here that make me scratch my head. The AK is one of the best designs Marui makes. Motors dont die like that, batteries do.
I get the feeling that you got this thing somehow (at 15 you should not be able to buy one), and nobody ever showed you how to care for it. If this gun is new, it should not behave this way at all. If it's second hand, it may have been screwed with before. Either way, this is becoming a guessing game. When you open and reset a mechbox, there are lots of little details that are a pain; assembly, gear timing, shimming, spotting parts that are failing, etc. Fact; you should not have had to replace the motor at all, a properly adjusted hopup does not let BB's roll out. The only AK I ever saw who failed was due to a complete idiot 'fixing' it. It was a butcher job. If you go and find a local expert, he/she will tell you exactly what is wrong, or simply give it a good check-up PLUS show you how. That's why I suggested you clarify your location; not to spy on you but to suggest who to contact. When folks who have actual experience with a gun model have to guess, it's time for you to take the next step. Only so much can be done by typing. |

Mcguyver, if you could just turn your miniblinds to face upward a little more I can see right into your room and zoom in on the AK lying on your desk. I'll be able to have a first hand look at your mechbox from here.

Whatever the problem though, it can be fixed ... by someone experienced.

FOUND IT!!!
i found the problem. there is a screw missing where the piston and the piston head meet, i am guessing what it was doing when i was shooting it was the piston would come back with the spring, but the piston HEAD stayed in one spot, so no air could go through the nozzle and make the bb go through... but dam the place at the front of the piston where the screw should be looks stripped so... new spring guide AND new dam piston for me.....its not that costly but its still a pain.... ty for all of your input on this situation. -Oliver |
