Stock Identification

Hey guys I need some help...

I've been digging all over the net trying to find what kind of stock Major Carter is using on her m4 in the 7th season of Stargate. I have to stop going over armalite parts as I'm getting to many idea and can't afford them. If you guys could direct me to a link it would be greatly appreciated

hereis a capture of the gun.

Hey Vond, I think what you're looking for is the RIGHT M16 Sniper Stock. Do a search for right on dentrinityshop.com and it will come up.

Heres it is

http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...fd1e4686d44b2d

It kinda loooks like a "sniper" type stock, probably offers better comfort when holding the gun I'm guessing?

How come they arent using the P90 anymore? I havent been up to date on the SG1 series but the Stargate Atlantis series are still using all P90's.

here is another shot of the stock. A friend of mine asked for it last year. I agree on the M16 sniper stock, It's very similar.

(ignor the text in caption, it's from a stupid fan website with ignorant peoples)

Actually the reason they used that M4/M16 beast is because at the time of filming they were short on 5.7mm ammunition and reserved it for Richard Dean Anderson. 5.7 ammo is pretty expensive and hard to get.

I recall someone reviewing it on here a while back. Apparently the airsoft version is the worst pos ever. Also, in the original posted pic, get yer finger off the trigger lady!

Yeah...I've read the same thing, there's a review in this forum as well as on a website, I don't have the link, I googled it. Don't want to put your hopes down, but apparently the quality of this stock is very poor.

A buddy of mine who watches the show all the time says the P90s are not real. They're apparently TM guns and the muzzle blasts are digitally edited in.

Don't watch the show so I can't say for sure. Definitely plausible since this technique is becoming more popular because it's a lot cheaper. Rental automatic weapons for theatre are expensive with a capital E, not to mention more dangerous than airsoft.

Easy way to tell - see if there are shell casings dropping from the stock when they fire. Anyone know?

Yeah i figured it looked like the sniper stock but the overall lenght is not the same so I guess it's a cut down version... probably custom made.

who said anything about using a airsoft version, the real steel version is cheaper anyway....

Stargate uses a mix of real steel and airsoft weapons...

Vondnik is correct as far as I know. As to the shell casings, that's no way to tell at all. They can be added in almost as easily as the muzzle flash -although it's true that it's an often overlooked detail, many vfx artists are little spaghetti-armed girlie men who know nothing of actual firearms.

P90s also eject shells downward. It's not easy to notice the real steel version ejecting shells.

Actually, If I am not mistaken the 5.7mm P90 [And Five-seveN] ammunition was only sold to people in the law enforcement community until recently. I could be wrong though. Anyone care to verify this for me?

On a side note, the FN Five-seveN would be a nice pistol i would like to seen made into airsoft. It's something different. Not meaning to thread-jack, just adding my $0.02
