KJW Sig P226 vs TM Sig P226

If anyone has handled these pistols side by side which of the two has a better exterior?

I've been persuaded to look at the KJWs instead of the KWC. But I've stumbled upon the TM variant and although I've heard rave reviews about their internals, I've been reading they skimp a little on the exterior (at least compared to some other brands). So I'm trying to get a grasp of how they compare since I won't be able to see them first hand for myself.

Thank you.

TM has better internals and accurate full trades on its externals but the frame and slide are made of plastic. The plastic is not glossy like the KJW paint so it looks more realistic but once you have it in your hands you can feel the difference. With that said the TM is LOT more efficient with its plastic slide and more durable than the KJW. There's no question that the TM is the better gun, although both will need a valve striker replacement unless you get the newer E2. You get used pretty fast to the plastic externals and the ability to use it at lower temperatures is well worth it.

The TM is the better gun. Which has better looks is personal preference.

So the KJW is all metal exterior but has bad paint?

Can you upgrade the KJW to be as good as the TM, or can you get metal externals for the TM?

All metal. But be warned they can be a pain to get right. This one was built for me by ILLusion.

That's questionable

Yes, but they perform best in stock configuration.

About the paint on KJW's, the newer generations have more of a matte finish than the older glossy one. Also, KJW P226's CAN be upgraded, as they are somewhat TM spec, but some modification might be needed. Honestly though, there isn't much I would do to a KJ one than a stronger recoil spring, and hop rubber. That said, TM will always perform the best with green gas/propane out of the box.

Have you even held a TM? Yeah it's plastic but don't look like it!

I haven't held any airsoft weapons... but feel is everything. My experience is real firearms and paintball markers (mostly all steel and solid). The experience I have is seeing the cheap plastic ones in Canadian Tire... and hearing the YouTube videos, I HATE the electric ones; sound like cheap toys to me rather than a "Replica Weapon"

No matter what 99.9% of the airsoft pistols out there won't feel like a real pistol. Most will be looking to achieve "looks real in the photo".

You'll have to decide what you want. If it's a desk/showpiece that you will never use or if you want to use it out in the field and have it hit what you're aiming at.

For taking to a game the TM will be tops. You can also use the TM to build a very nice looking pistol with some cash and with even more cash you can get a good looking 226 that you can also take to the field but that's not where you start out.

The KJW is aimed at someone who really really wants a full metal pistol and doesn't care if it doesn't look that great or work that great. Someone who might play for a season and loose interest and not feel bad about the funds spent.

Danke, would you say this is the honest truth for all airsoft including rifles?

If so then one should give up entirely on my interests in the sport and just purely buy the most accurate and reliable rifle one can find regardless of how it looks or feels.

It all depends on your goals, the most accurate tool that will let you hit players at long range are not necessarily the most realistic feeling guns. On the other hand a nice full steel gas blowback rifle feels a lot more like a real gun, but they will never reach the precision of a professionally tuned AEG, especially in cold conditions. Doesn't mean you can't be an effective player with a GBB rifle, but you'll face a steeper learning curve.

I do love my TM P226E2. I just wish the grip wasn't so wide (small hands over here). My friend has a KJW P226 and it is a night and day difference "feel-wise". I much prefer the feel of his gun in my hand , but I still love my TM and it has NEVER had a jam or mis-feed yet.

My TM P226E2 is stock but I have ordered a guarder steel (threaded) outerbarrel so I can add my ACETECH lighter tracer unit to the end of it.

I would highly recommend the TM as well, but if you NEEEEED that "real steel feel", I would recommend the KJW P226. I don't think you'll be let down with either choice, but listen to the other more experienced users above, I can only give you my personal impressions of handling both. I use a BlackHawk! Serpa holster for my TM P226 and it fits like a glove (also worth checking out if you are yet to get a holster).

I hope that helps
