How often do you use your side arm?

And what type of games do you play? Outdoor or CQB? Or even Milsim?

Honestly, the only time my pistol gets used is in CQB when I loan it to a friend for the day or when I force myself to use it for a few rounds. I rarely transition from rifle to pistol, and rarely draw it if I run out of ammo, I just reload. I don't think I even shot a round out of my pistol at my last outdoor game.

Recently I've really wanted to build a C8A3 but everytime I want a new gun I always try and sell something to make up funds so I don't hate myself for spending all that money.

Often. It's small, quiet and easy to go to. I use my pistol about 10% of my gameplay.

Did you ever practice or force yourself to use pistols in certain situations? It's never been my first instinct to draw a pistol unless I completely run dry on mags

Do you think it's a must have for obscure events or situations?

I use it, only to get back to my primary.

Theres a time and place, for milsims it comes out but not as often as a cqb scenario.

I use mine enough to warrant having it.

I can spend a whole game day without using it. I'll use it if engagement distance won't allow me to use my primary or if I suspect someone's right around the corner. Otherwise I really need to force myself to use it, but I lack practice shooting a pistol and I can't hit shit past 70ft :P As much as I want to blame the pistol, I know my skill needs a lot of work lol.
I play mostly on an outdoor field with a few makeshift bunkers and "houses".

I'd practice using it sometimes, just so it's muscle memory to go to it.

I play CQB and I transition about 40% of my gameplay based on engagement distance or when my primary is dry. I spend about 30mins 4times a week practicing transitions so it happens unless I'm behind cover and with time to tact reload.

So extremely rarely that I don't even bother carrying it anymore. If you have to transition from a rifle to a pistol, you're in the territory of "fucked".

I use my pistol in cqb because it's fun and difficult.

In CQB? All the time, and its usually my primary.

Outside, with a sniper rifle? Only when shit hits the fan and somehow the enemy gets too close.

When using an automatic as a primary? Only if the gun somehow stops working or I'm out of ammo. There's some exceptions, on well built fields, I often use it inside buildings, but in purely woodlands areas, I often don't even carry one anymore unless the field is very large and I can't access the respawn easily, then its good to have a backup on you just in case.

Let me ask another question. If you had no sidearm, and had $400 to spend, would you buy a pistol or another primary?

If I played more CQB than outdoor, pistol.

If I played outdoor more, depends if that $400 will get me a better primary. If not, I'd just use it for gear or upgrades.
