M14
Hey guys just wondering what battery, you guys recommend for the tokyo M14.
I was leaning towards the 8.4V 1700mah because the price seems good. 12USD cheeper than the 8.4V 2000mah I also wanted the battery to be firm when in the airsoft. Not moving around. So I want to hear your recommendations. Thanks |

Either one will work fine. Also, the large battery will fit tightly into the butt of the rifle.

You know you can buy Large type batteries in at least 3 walk-in stores in the Ottawa/Gatineau area? I'd say that's simpler than doing a transaction with the US.
In general, the more MAH, the better. I dont see a noticeable difference between my 1700 and 2000mah battery packs. |

I know it's a resurrection, but I just want to say that it actually IS possible to mount a 9.6V 2000mAh battery in the stock, without modifications. You just have to take the buttplate assembly off, put it in, and screw the plate back in. Bling!

That does not work for all guns. For many, you have to take the stock apart and remove some of the support pins inside.

I am with Greylocks on this as far as buying batteries. So many guys order batteries from airsoft retailers or other sources and get screwd on the price. Some online battery places do have good prices though.
But I find going into any hobby shop works great and if you have a problem with the battery its easy to return it. you can get up to 2400mah in Nicad and 3600 or maybe 3800mah in Nimh 8.4v batteries. |

My TM m14 will fit a 3600mah nimh, its rather snug, but fits well and doesnt move around at all.

I vouch get the biggest battery you can afford and that will fit. (MAH wise) the lower the MAH i found the easier it is effected by weather. Or if you going to go with a low MAH get 2 battery's the cold weather will affect your batterys.

Tokyo Marui recommends 8.4v 1300mAh.
On a stock gun, I don't recommend going about 1700mAh with sub-C cells, especially if you'll full auto a lot. I've seen some stock pistons chewed to shit after less than 10,000 rounds of full auto with 2400mAh NiCad packs. This is due to the lowered internal resistance of these larger packs, the ROF actually comes out faster. |
