So I am not sure if this is the right place for this.
I am just curious strictly from a magazine perspective if the propane mag can hold CO2, my main concern obviously is that the mag would explode because it is not rated for the pressure. However if the mag does not run the risk of explosion are there any other technical limitations that would prevent this from working? I am considering buying THIS to see if my VFC MP5 propane mag will operate filled with CO2. I am mostly curious just because I most of my indoor plinking at home in a not so awesomely ventilated area and the propane tends to become overbearing pretty quickly. |

Don't do it. propane at 70 degrees American, is about 100psi, co2 is more like 800psi. Buy CO2 mags if you must run co2 or use Chinese green gas canisters as they don't contain the smell that commercial propane does.

If you regulate it down and only charge the mag to ~125psi, it will hold fine, but expect 1, maybe 2 shots from it. Propane is stored in liquid form in the mag, while the vapour on top is what's being discharged to fire the bb. Charge a mag with straight vapour (gas can right side up) and you'll simulate it being charged with regulated co2/hpa/any compressible gas (that's not oxygen)

Alright, it looks like its either too much risk of explosion or not enough of an incentive to be worth it.
Thanks. |

If it's just for bsmt plinking, maybe a little air compressor and one of those hpa quick connect taps that thread into fill port on mag...?
