What would be a good first GBBR rifle?

I moved from airsoft to owning real guns a couple of years ago.

Gas blowback rifles seem to be a lot more common and cheaper nowadays. I recall them being just an expensive novelty when I stopped airsoft.

I'd like to get one just for fun and maybe plinking as I don't intend to play matches again. I don't plan to shoot thousands of BBs, replace parts or mod it. I'd like a GBBR carbine that feels realistic with a decent kick back and markings that are mostly authentic looking. Preferably under $400.

I saw these 2 which seemed interesting:

WE AK 74UN

VFC H&K G36K GBB-R

As always, there's mostly M4 variants out there so it's a bit overwhelming. which brands & models should I look into?

If you settle for we you'll end up finding and replacing stuff fast.. plinking is more internally intensive then most skirmishes.

GHK M4 with co2 mags,

GHK G5 kicks quiet lovely

Stay away for vfc g36 version 1.

WE's AK has a nasty reputation with internal parts breaking easily, but WE's G36 is one of the very best GBBR's in existence.

I dont really feel too bad on my WE AK GBB, well yes, it's true the internal parts breaking easily compare to other brand, but I m satisfy with the overall performance.

No, I heard they are "ok" but no personal experience.

I would skip it and save up when they release something irresistible.

TM M4A1 MWS.

However that's going to run you more than $400. More like $700-$800.

If I remember correctly, here are some Gas Blow Back Rifles that feature minimal cool down.

GHK GBB Rifles

WE G39C (G36C)

TM MWS M4 and other sub guns

KJW M4

Here are some Gas Blow Back Rifles that feature minimal-moderate cool down.

Inokatsu/Vipertech M4....for big budgets.

KWA LM4

WE M4 and other variants (KAC PDW)

The KJW 10/22 is also a solid gun and i would rate it pretty High. The local community has came up with some great aftermarket upgrades to keep it competing with the best.
