Decent spring pistol - 1911 maybe?
Are there any decent spring pistols (1911 type maybe) that have good weight and heft are not just the $20 transparent Canadian Tire specials? Thanks.

TM Glock Springer but they're a novelty special. But if you're looking for weight and heft you should look elsewhere.

"good weight and heft", not if you want reliability and accuracy.
The best ones are from Tokyo Marui and they're all plastic. I have a spring 1911 TM and within 15m it's more accurate than my KWC 1911. |

Just a thought. I have a KJW KP-07, which is pretty nice but sometimes it's nice just to plink a couple of shots rather than a whole CO2 or without filling the gas mag.
So it sounds like metal and weight are not necessarily indicators of quality and the usual good brands do some in plastic that are good? I had a P99 years ago that was all plastic and very nice but sold it on unfortunately. Can't remember the make of it. |

Canadian tire has the blackwater metal slide ones, and at least when I got it it was a full black body, not sure about now, and it works fairly well. I can compare it's weight to my we 1911 if you like.

I missed that one, thanks! Has pretty good reviews too, I will add it to my sales alerts.

Unless you're just looking for a gat to stick in your waistband and flash at rival gang members, you'd probably do well staying away from most things Canadian Tire.

Alright so 541 grams for the blackwater metal slide 1911, my WE 1911 meu (green gas) weighs 1,029 with the magazine in, mostly empty of gas.
The real government m1911 weights 2.44 lb with a magazine unloaded, so the WE is fairly close at 2.268 unloaded, only another 30 grams would be added with it full of .2g bb's, and the blackwater weighs a measly 1.1lb. The blackwater does have weight holes in the grips but they are filled and I doubt switching to lead would make a huge amount of difference, not sure, you could try casting some lead the right size in some sand. Not really much you can do to make it weigh as much as the real steel or we though. |
