I didn't like how the paint was wearing on this part of the gun, definitely made worse by the suppressor, so with a lack of judgement because I'm so damn exhausted today I went at it with some 600 grit to remove the paint and then 1500 for the finish and it looked like total ass, but then I went out and got some steel wool and I'd say it turned out pretty good. I used a black sharpie to fill the lettering again since the steel wool took the paint out of them.
I need to clean the slide out so it marks it less, one or two cycles and it marks it up a bit which sucks but I think it was a good call. I'll hold off on doing to rest of the barrel that you can see until I see what the cost of shipping on this full length 1911 guide rod is, and see if it works in this gun. I've only been able to find one video of someone doing it and that's about it, no other reference to using real steel guide rods in airsoft guns.
What I really need is a buffing wheel for my dremel and buffing compound but I can only find whole kits for about 26 bucks which is too pricy for me right now since I spent a little more than I figured on a punisher compensator, new piston return spring, magazine, micro laser and then probably this full length guide rod.
