Hey guys, recently picked up a very nice piece of Tanaka goodness, a performance center-style m629.
I'm trying to find a bit of info on it, particularly regarding the materials used. The barrel doesn't feel like the same material as the plastic frame- it gets cold a lot faster and it's much harder? I doubt it's aluminum and i don't really want to try cutting it or anything to find out. My guess was plastic with powdered metal.
I'm also curious how many versions of Tanaka m29's exist, and what the parts compatibility would be between them in terms of hopup/cylinder stop etc.
Here's a photo for reference. I know there's a chrome version with the fluted cylinder as well, not sure if there's a difference materials wise.
thanks!
