Fts mounts and red dots + GBBR =?

Seeing as Im building a second upper for my gbbr, obviously ill be curious about some "new" things.

Anyone have any experience with flip to the side magnifiers and eotechs/ red dots on gbbrs? Not looking for the real deal just china clones as it wont be my primary upper, just something to change it up once in a while. Now, ive used all the above on aegs, and as expected; no problems arose. im pretty versed in optics on gbbrs, but Im curious as to how they (fts mounts and red dots) hold up on a blowback regarding loss of zero or just blowing clean off the top. Any and all points are valid.

Thanks!

All clone magnifiers I've tried to date are crap. They have one or some combination of the following issues:
Poor eye relief
Poor alignment with the red dot
Poor diopter adjustment
Poor light transmission
Fogging
Off-spec mounts

If you're on a budget, get a Vortex VMX-3T. Get the LaRue FTS mount though because the factory mount is ... counterintuitive.
Side-by-side with an Aimpoint 3x magnifier there are notable differences such as lack of scope armour and lower quality in lens coatings. But it will serve your purpose well for airsoft.

try to get a budget one like steve said...
or a cheaper sunoptic one + a mount..man magnifiers are expensive..

The cheap sub 100 dollar ones are crap that I can confirm...the one I had misalignment, and the mount won't even stay secure on my rail...swivel was super loose..

I have never really used any red dot that is not RS rated, so I can't say how those "chinese" clones would do..most of them should do fine since a GBBr is similar to a .22...but a RS rated clone is not that much more expensive so I just bought them instead..

My $20 china red dot is holding up fine on my WE P90 however I did have to solder on more resistance to decrease brightness for dusk play. Unlike RS the clarity is not good enough to use at night unless there is a lot of moonlight. I have heard the $50 non tube replicas tend to perform worse so take care.

If you are referring to reflex sights like the one by NCStar, they work fine in the dark.

and the funny part is you can see the red light from the front of those sights too in the dark...so playing total black out games don't use them..even a little bit of light gives you away..

I've never noticed that on my sight. It's not the NCStar one, idk the brand, but it's that style reflex and the red dot is only visible from the back. Either way i go pistol only when my nods are on :P

I've had NC Star reflex sight and couldn't see a thing through it at night. They make it rather reflective for it to work during the day and that translates to poor light transmission at night. Also the stock settings are very bright on all budget optics, even lower end RS stuff suffers from this. Nothing a soldering iron and some resistors cant fix though..

you're gonna need a dot with shock resistance.

The recoil will kick the zero out.. depot has some.
