TM Tracer unit problems

I recently purchased a new TM tracer, and put it onto a stock TM MP5A4, and it worked great for the first couple rounds I tested it on. However upon bringing it to a game, the first couple shots worked, then it stopped sensing the BB's.

If I take off the unit and manually drop a BB through there, it works fine and detects every single one..but when attached to the gun, I get nothing. The batteries and brand new and the unit is attached properly so I am totally baffled by this.

Anyone had this problem before?

It doesnt actually sense the BB's, it just emits a high pulse beam of light, which charges up the Tracer BB's, either your mix of tracer to non tracer BB's is not as great as you thought, or you got a bad batch.

actually, it does sense the BBs.

There is an optical sensor inside.

It may have to be disassembled to diagnose your problem.

Does the tracer unit even flash when you shoot through it?

Sorry what I meant is it has no way of knowing whether the BB is a tracer round or not.

Umm couldnt you just thake the BB and shine it with light, than look at it in the dark to see if it glows?

Cheers,
Alex
