How to install a metal body??
So I have broke my M-16A2 upper reciever (plastic) twice in as many seasons so I have opted to spend the extra money to buy a metal body (SR-15). I know it's a lengthy process to install a metal body...are there any sites or guides that I could find some information on how to do this?
P.S. I would rather learn how to do it myself rather than paying for it to be done. Nathan

Have you ever done any mods to a gun (internally)?

You miht want to pay someone with some experience. Most bodies require some Dremeling of some kind and alot of tweeking.

nathan,
the receiver i spoke to you about comes with instructions. really bad instructions, but you can still understand it. Again, the biggest thing you have to remember is to pull the charging handle back to accept the gearbox and to be careful when maneuvering the tabs around the bushings/bearings. Never lift the tab or you'll snap it. If anything, flex the base and not the tip of the tab. You won't find details on those particular parts in any guide or instruction set. The rest of the installation is simple and not that far off from a plastic body. The entire receiver has already been fitted. |
