Rifle storage question
Hey,
I wanted to ask how you guys store your rifles. I'm paranoid about my barrel bending slightly so I want to know whether its best to store a rifle on its own in a bag, in its original box, or a safe or something else? Laying down or standing up? I'm not sure how durable AEG barrels are if they're leaned against a wall or something. Thanks a lot! Last edited by Demogorgon; October 22nd, 2015 at 20:16.. |

don't store it barrel down or with the whole weight on just the barrel
your barrel shouldn't bend anyway.... |

Ummm ya, it would take a lot to bend... the only way I could see it happening is if you had a crack on the receiver where the outer barrel locks in but even then I don't think the weight of the gun would make the inner barrel bend.
Keep in mind that with airsoft there are two barrels... the outer barrel and the inner barrel. The inner can only bend if the outer does. |

Its most likely pot metal, not steel: it won't bend much before it snaps.

You should store it until it breaks

A buddy introduced the thought that even if these aren't real steel they could be used to commit a crime if stolen. So likely, storage that is out of plain sight if you were ever robbed would be a smart idea.
No need for a gun safe but perhaps not having them hang on a wall display is something to consider
