Guarder vs BHI vs Eagle equip.
So I'm looking to buy a tactical vest in the range of ~$100 and a drop leg P90 mag pouch.
Coincidentally, the best producers of each are both Guarder and BHI, but I'm hard-pressed as to which one to buy... Guarder: Guarder 2005 Ver. Modular Tactical Vest -$109 Guarder Modular Tactical Vest -$96 (same, but different pouches/setup) Guarder AK/P90 Thigh Mag Pouch -$20 vs. Black Hawk: Omega Elite Tactical Vest #1 -$200 BlackHawk Omega Tactical Vest -$135 BlackHawk Omega Tactical Vest-Modular -$115 Omega Elite Drop Leg Pouch FNP90, SMG,UMP45 -$60 (looks larger than the Guarder version) vs Eagle: TAC-V1-N Vest-A -$165 TACV1MOD 4.0 SEALS Modular Load Bearing Vest -$200 Any comments and/or past experiences both positive and negative with these products listed or any of these manufacturer's products would be very helpful! Thanks!

What exactly do you plan on carrying? Or are you just buying a vest for the look of the thing?

The copy vest are a little thinner. I mean, the material used is not as strong as BHI or other real brands.
For airsoft, it's pretty good anyway. Unless you plan on beating the shit out of your vest.

I have no experience with Guarder's nylon products so I can't comment on those. Anybody with experience on this care to comment?
If you already have the pouches I recommend going with the modular vests. If you wan't to go with BHI, I'd bin the Omega vests you mentioned because they're still using the ALICE attach points. Go with the BHI STRIKE modular vest such as STRIKE Gen 4 MOLLE Omega Vest or STRIKE DOAV Vest If you can spend a little more you can't go wrong with the SEALs Action Gear modular vest (made by Eagle Industries). |

For your price range, just go for replica gear, you don't need the real stuff. BHI is on the low end in terms of real gear, so you could consider that as well, but good gear from companies such as Eagle, Paraclete, TAG, SOtech, or HSGI will probably be out of your price range.

Blackhawk's pretty good stuff, can't comment on the Guarder. Another one to consider is TAG, although, you'll need to find P90 pouches elsewhere.

i found guarder gear to be of very good quality, i have a guarder interceptor replica and it's built exceptionally well and out of the real materials. compared to my eagle and bhi gear, it's on par. if youre looking for a rig to hold p90 mags as well as normal ones, check this out
http://www.intrudershop.com/show_pro...?idproduct=224 i've actually got one in customs, we'll see how it turns out

Thanks for the info guys!
My primary intentions for this vest is to look good as a SWAT type CQB vest. Preferably with useable pockets (i.e. mag pockets and utility pockets) Modular would be great, but if I could get a vest with pouches that are perfectly situated, then that would be great too. As of yet, I have no pouches, but would be willing to buy some if needed. So far I would only need some standard mag pouches (for looks :P) and a walkie-talkie pouch and some utility pouches. For the price range, I'd say good quality and/or good looks could stretch me as far as ~$200 (but I'd be more comfortable paying a moderate amount for a moderate vest.) Right now, whats making it excessively hard are the BHI and Eagle vests that are within the price range as the Guarder. I.E. the BH Omega Tacticals, Eagle Tac-V1-N, and Guarder Tac vest are all within close proximity price wise. So do I go with the cheaper Guarder for looks, or should I spend a little more and get looks & BHI/Eagle quality? p.s. if I did go with a modular how hard/expensive is it to find and mount the additional pouches? (specifically, are pouches interchangeable from ALICE to MOLLE to webbing, etc?)

Alice will fit on MOLLE, but not well. Likewise, same issue in the reverse order.
Modular gets expensive, real fast. Start on BHI's STRIKE series, add pouches as you like, then watch in horror as your credit card soaks your wallet in tears. If for looks, I'd stay with a pre-designed vest. You can get a very well built TAG pre-designed vest for the cost of a very basic BHI STRIKE molle setup.

Yes, that's the TAG website... I rather have the MOLLE over those tactical vests anytime even though I spent big bucks for it... I spent nearly 350$ US on mine. BHI!!!

I have about a grand invested in gear. More gear then airsoft, actually (even after I get my WE hi-capa). I plan on having more on the way, too.

Just a note. I've got a bunch of SDS MOLLE adapters (I think 5 or six of them) if you're interested in converting any ALICE stuff to be MOLLE mountable. Cost me an arm and a leg to get direct from SDS after all the hassles with customs and such. I'll let you have them for $5 each plus any s&h if you're interested. I paid about triple that and all are in brand spanking new condition as I ended up not using them.
