TM M&P9 not cycling... what should I try?
So I have 2 TM pistols....both M&P9 that are stock.
I have played a couple of games with them and they worked flawlessly. I haven't played in about 3 weeks and they have been stored (without magazine). Today... both would not cycle. Tried different magazines, but same effect. They would fire the first round, but then the slide would not come forward. It seems that the slides are both very weak after firing. Also.. I searched.... but perhaps I missed it... is there a general guide for maintaining your gbb pistols? Thanks |

Low on gas?
Do you maintain and lube after each use? |

A couple of things come to mind - are you filling with a full can of gas? Cans low on gas, be it green or propane, will introduce less gas into the magazines. Second, with the magazines out, how does the slide feel when racked? Is it relatively smooth, or is it rough and bumpy? If the slide is not returning to battery when the slide is released, then inspect the nozzle. Does it return back to starting position if you pull it forward? I've noticed gas blowback pistols are surprisingly simple to maintain. In my experience, I do a field strip, wipe everything down with a proper all-purpose cleaner, then hit the slide rails and inside of the slide with a light coating of grease. I then pull the nozzle forward until the piston head or o-ring is visible, and put a drop of silicone oil on there. That's all you really need to do, and I suspect that's the issue at the moment. Lastly, this being a plastic TM... I encourage you to, when fully disassembling the gun, to closely inspect the slide. You'll be looking at the nose of the slide where the metal reinforcement is - you're looking for this to be loose, or for the slide to have a crack in it. same goes for the ejection port. Fractures or loose parts can cause the issue you are looking at - the chances of two pistols being broken at the exact same time is pretty low but it's easy to rule out. |

Thanks for the advice.
It's been a long day at work so I haven't had a chance to try the suggestions out. I think I may need to add some oil on the slide. With the mag out it does not want to return to the starting position. Is there any specific kind of oil I should be using? I'll let you know how it goes... but may not get to it for a couple of days yet. Thanks again |

Let us know how it goes. Remember - seals and o-rings get silicone oil, while metal on metal, plastic on plastic, or metal on plastic interfaces get grease.

I use this for the slide and metal parts, not to much but just enough. (I used it on my EX stock M&P aswell)
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/pe...l#.VXbq4E3Qcno I use 30 WT silicon oil for the nozzle and O-rings as MSC mentioned.. I recommend you go to an RC shop and buy "Shock Oil" if you have that option. |

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

Not fully sure of the design of this gun however i know alotbof times on glocks the screw that holds the bbu in place can sometimes back out stopping the slide from returning to battery.
You can easily check that when you have the slide off.

Had a couple of moments to try a few mentioned ideas.
I lubed the slide up and it returns battery as normal. However.... when I fire a round off it only partially closes. There is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap that the slide doesn't close and prevents it firing. Also.. my dog just at the top portion of the plastic mag. Is it possible to order this part or am I SOL and need to order a new mag? |

Picture + Video would help with your issue a lot.
Haven't seen anything for spare mag parts for the m&p, might be easier to get a new mag. Can check WGCSHOP to see if they sell them yet. |
