Brand new to the airsoft scene.
Hello everyone. I have been getting more and more interested in Airsoft. I live in the middle of no where and there are many airsoft playing fields near me. I was wondering before I humiliate myself in front of everyone when I go, what kind of gun should I get? I'm on about a $150 CAD budget. I just want to get a decent AEG but I know for that price, it isn't possible. I guess maybe I will start with a good pistol then work my way up. Any suggestions? Oh, by xmas, I will have about $400 CAD to use for an AEG.

i've seen guns like the academy l-85 sell for around $120 u.s. not a great gun but not bad for the money. you could get a tokyo-marui mp5k for around $180 u.s. but there are lots of cheap aeg's for under $100 u.s. there are just tons of u.s. based airsoft sites and they usually have a large selection. you may also want to check out the utg brand of aeg's and as well the src m4. they are tokyo knock-offs at half the money with a growing following of satisfied customer world-wide. it would be better to buy a good quality aeg, but if you start with the cheaper brands, you will find out quickly why we spend big cake on the good stuff.

UTG MP5 is about your only choice. Airsplat had a deal for a complete kit for $99USD.

For you, go to www.kapowwe.com They're good people, and easy to deal with. Plus, they have pretty good prices, and if you ever go to Houston, a walk-in store. Cheers, Nate |

Ok, I'm planning on saving and getting the Tokyo Marui MP5-A4, would this be a good investment?

Can I upgrade the Tokyo Marui MP5 a lot? I want a gun that I will be able to keep for a while. Also, does it run pretty good when it is just stock?

It runs great stock, and there's lots of upgradability, both internally, and as far as high-speed leet gear to strap onto the outside.

Just for the heck of it, I decided to bid on this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=7191431561 I have the money to do so, knowing that it will most likely be crap, but, do you think I have a chance of it being a little decent? :P P.S. Just ordered my Tokyo Marui MP5 SD6 |

It's correct, you can find an AEG not very expensive at the USA

Even the Marui's are 2/3rds or less then here... plus, you can get knockoff LPEG P90s and G36es there. That's why US Airsoft is bad, everything's cruddy LPEGs, EBBs and springers. Even if they want to buy one of those, they get JLS or CYMA... it's kind of sad.
