helmet shopping

Time to start looking, since there's lots of really great solutions to eliminating a bunch of straps on my head...

Right now, I have eyepro strap, comm wires, comm headband, and a face mask to deal with... that's enough strapping to make me look like a mummy.

So I'm looking at options to reduce the issue.

I am looking for a very well ventilated helmet

can be a clone... actually prefer it.

can hang my repro sordins off of it

can attach goggle straps to it

can rig a facemask to buckle to it.

A replica will be enough to mount a go pro, I'm not terribly interested in filming, but the possibility is there.

A real one would be needed to mount nvg... let's face it... hanging 2000$ worth of optics off a 60$ made in china helmet is not a wise decision.

What are my options?

My hatsize is like 7 3/8, I feel I have a large head.

Most clone helmets have the ability to do all of those things.

my concern for a fake one is my head size being too big for the helmet.

Plan A) Get a tonne of cash and get a real helmet like a Team Wendy from DS Tactical etc.

Plan B) Get a bit less than a tonne of cash and lurk the sales forum here to find a used lid.

Just using a clone from airsoftdepot.

Got my goggles attached via the revision pdq system, and my lower mesh mask ive cut off the straps and I hold it in place using the NVG elastic wires and two zip ties to make hooks for the nvg elastics to connect.

I run a bone mic, so I can take my helmet off and it removes everything with no crazy straps and wires, or I can just pop my lower off to eat and drink or talk when I have down time.

yeah every time I'm in town to go to ASD they are out of stock on the helmets so I can't try them on. I might just order one blind from ali express and see if I can make it work, if not I can just flip it real quick, I'm sure there's a fair number of people wanting a lid.

I'd rather not do that if I can avoid it lol... ordering blind is how I end up with shit I can't use. :P

The good news is that there's an ops core dealer here in ottawa I can go and try the real shit on, but after taxes and stuff that's close to 300 bucks or more.

Anyone know if the clips and mounts from the clones will work in the real deal? I don't feel like paying half the price of the helmet to get the clips I need to mount stuff.

where'd you get yours from and how can you tell between the 2 models that have the adjustment?

Evike (shipping from there sucks, but I was getting something else I couldn't find in country anyways).

It says "advanced" in the description, as opposed to "basic".

DS tactical: team Wendy non ballistic couple hundred but best in helmet retention system out there NVG mount, side rails, back velcro for counter weight and very well vented. Own 2 will not buy anything else. Also the helmet wraps are burlap material so they break up sight line nicely if your going for that.

Go MICH or FAST helmet. Lots of mods available to them online, and pretty much fit everything + every thing else said above.

The helmets Huang carries are the Dragon Red Airsoft ones seen here from my understanding: http://dragonredairsoft.com/catalog/

You might want to try contacting them about their sizing if you are considering this option. I have one of their first gen Ops-Core helmets, I have a Size 7 and the thing probably is only slightly one size (7 1/8)

I'd personally spend the extra 100 and get the Team Wendy Exfil LTP which are $300 on the official site.

You could also get a Ops-Core, DS Tactical has them for $235, only in Black though, but there are many companies that make helmet covers for the helmet (both RS & Replica)
