Comtac II headset, looking for adapter to computer

I'm looking for an adapter for my ztactical comtac IIs to use them with my computer to both listen to audio and communicate.

I'm not sure what the stubby adapter on the end of the headset is called, but I'd basically be looking for a cable with the female version of this on one end and two 1/8" stereo plugs on the other that will plug into the back of my computer; one for the headphone audio and another for the microphone.

I don't need any in-line PTT buttons, or volume control.

I have never heard of such a thing.

Aren't you worried the screen will get shot out?

I can't tell if you're serious or joking.

I thought I might use the headset to communicate over Skype or steam at home. I don't have a mic for my computer... I've seen adapters that connect only to audio for mp3 players, but they're missing the microphone part.

Have you tried using it with your phone? I'm fairly certain if you look around you will find stereo to audio and microphone cables if you do the right research.

An Aviation adapter is about $40 US.

Pretty sure a computer headset is $10.

The problem with this is, the speakers in your headset are CHEAP AS FUCK and designed for voice, not music. The mic may also not work with the computer either.

An adapter may cost more than a cheap desk mic.

Ya, to heck with that. I'll get a dedicated mic for that price.

BTW: what happened to age verifications being processed over the weekend?

SHHHHHH I had a lot of snow removal to do.

1 meter+ of snow in the last week means lots of work on the weekend.

In my opinion, and those of most others, it's not worth trying to jerry rig your headset to your computer.

For the time and money you're going to put into finding and buying an adapter, you'll be much better off buying something purpose built for your computer. If you do find an adapter (I haven't found one for my U-94 connector in my 5 minutes of curiosity), everything will still sound terrible.

There's literally a $12 headset on Amazon that will sound better than real Comtacs, much less Z-tac knock offs.
Unless your an audiophile, just drop $40 on a headset to get decent sound, and especially, a decent mic. You won't get to hear the benefits of how your mic sounds, but you'll find that you'll quickly lose friends that want to talk to you, if you buy a dollar store mic.
