Unfortunately you are not age verified which means we cannot provide you information about how to or where to purchase airsoft guns, cross border or otherwise.
Please refer to these threads for information on age verification: http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=162052 http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=162051 Once you get verified you can also view all the pretty guns on this site, retailers inside of Canada and information about importing airsoft guns. |

79 cents don't buy you as much as if you bought local at the moment.

As an aside, lets say you find a gun and manage to import it. First off the Canadian Dollar is taking a shit. 20% mark up on you gun sucks. Second shipping is an ass and a half from the states, especially if UPS is used. Third what happens if that gun comes broken or doesn't work? It would cost a fortune to ship the sucker back and would be a massive headache. Fourth, lets say some overzealous CBSA agent decides your are the lucky winner of a black mark on your record, making travel 10x more difficult because you get a prostate exam everytime you cross the border. Honestly there is an old saying. Trying to import airsoft guns into Canada is like trying to fuck a brick. Keep at it and you might find a hole, but in the end it isn't worth the pain. Granted it has become easier to import guns. Key word is easier, not easy. Your gun could still be flagged and shipped off to a ballistic testing facility and cause you to waste an ton of time trying to sort through everything. I can tell you right now there are some FANTASTIC deals on airsoft guns in the classifieds that you won't get importing from the US.

Exchange rate is so bad, just buy in country. You'll save money.

One thing I will say... sometimes, a gun just isn't available at a canadian retailer and ordering it in.... well, you're going to get hit with the 20% exchange whether you do it or your store does it.
I'm not advocating it, but sometimes it does make sense. |

Except you also have to pay brokerage, inflated shipping prices and exchange on the shipping.
A large number of Canadian retailers purchase guns from over seas or the states. You can ask them to bring in a gun that they previously listed in stock and it will save you all the hassle and maybe even a few dollars. As an example, I want a KJW Gemtech Oasis, but they are hard to find and basically out of stock everywhere in Canada and even some places in the States. I am positive I can get a retailer to order one in headache and hassle free for me, or at least much easier than if I ordered direct from out of country. |

Really depends on the rate.
Back when I got a GHK 74U from XYZ in the US, after shipping, duty and tax, I ended up getting a free mag, and an extra hop-up chamber with the money saved if I were to buy from Toronto Airsoft. Most US retailers use UPS, and UPS has stupid fees, your almost guaranteed paying an extra $100 Canadian on anything over $300 USD. Good thing about Asian retailers is you can get them to mark the invoice % down, to avoid taxes and duty. |

.... even if they use UPS, you can clear the item yourself then the huge brokerage fee is gone. As long as you live near a CBSA office (such as an airport).

Regardless of how "easy" it has become to purchase from out of country, it is still more of a pain then purchasing in country. With exchange rates being what they are it is even more attractive to buy inside Canada. I can go to a certain Canadian retailer and get a gun for 130$ right now, or go to a US company and spend 80$ (96 after the exchange) plus another 30-50 in shipping in US dollars and a brokerage fee. Then if the gun doesn't work I can easily send it back to the canadian retailer instead of the US one.

ok... again, I'm not saying it makes sense all the time but sometimes it does. I got my PTS Mega Arms GBBR from the US for under $500 all in (shipping, exchange, taxes... etc.) when the cheapest I found it in Canada was $650 before taxes... so ya, saving $150 on a gun, which is what we're talking about here not a $40 taco pouch, it can make sense in certain instances. In general I agree that buying Canadian is the way to go but don't say it doesn't make sense at all to buy overseas or from the US all the time.
