SCAR-H Manufacturer recommendation
So I've been thinking about buying a second AEG as a dedicated outdoor rifle since I have made my first one primarily a CQR option.
I'm looking for a durable AEG only, well tuned out of the box. Basically throw on an optic and go type of deal. It looks like VFC was the go to for a long time but there are a lot more manufacturers out there making this gun now and I don't really trust Internet reviews. Anyone have one that they can recommend? |

What do you need in an outdoor rifle that isn't satisfied by your indoor rifle?

Higher fps primarily, something with a little more accuracy and range.
Besides I'm under the impression that your second gun is a question of when, not if |

you could just change the spring in your cqb gun
all you need for accuracy is heavier ammo, a better hop rubber, and potentially a new barrel if your old one is really bad |

I like to run 28-36 in all my outdoor guns due to wind. All my outdoor guns except my L96 shoot 390FPS +- 2 My CQC M4 Shoots at 340, ANd has great range for all the indoor fields Ive played at, But when I bring it outside It falls short when I try to add 28s. This is my Opinion only, Please don't drop nades because of it.

Yeah my indoor gun is limited to under 350 and has no quick change spring. I have the cash for a second gun so I'm going to get one. Just looking for a great all around SCAR out of the box so I thought I would ask for recommendations.
Oh and while I appreciate alternative options this is just the most convenient for me. Spend my cash! Last edited by WinnipegDragon; January 25th, 2015 at 19:44.. |

I just got a Scar-L Of a member, Its real Purdy. As for reviews go, I think your choices are G@G or VFC as raining champs.

G&G SCAR is far inferior to VFC, and they don't make a SCAR-H. Your only other option is TM, but really their externals are far inferior to VFC, and their internals are only reliable at Japanese legal velocities. If you try to get it up to 400 FPS you'll need to pretty much gut the entire gearbox.

you can run .28s at 350fps with an Rhop. Heck I even got 200ft of range out of a 300fps marui P90 by just using a guarder clear rubber.
It's just not going to be traveling very fast lol |

The L seems a lot more common, and takes M4 mags. Maybe I'd be better off with an L in the long run anyhow.

You got it, just watch out mag compatibility. If you went with G&G, and want to use mag from other brand, you need mod the mag little bit (the top plastic part is a little shorter in G&G mag) before you can fully inset the mag into your G&G mag well, and the modified mag can still be used in non G&G AEG's

Cool, thanks for the tip. I'm using King Arms Tangodown mags right now. They seem okay-ish for cheap mags.
Will likely give in and get PMAGS at some point. |

Too bad you aren't AV'ed there's a nice SCAR-H in NIB condition (VFC) for $350 shipped on classifieds ;P.

I have been AV'd but I'm waiting for it to be updated here. Apparently there was some issue and I don't know what it is.
WE makes an AEG L now. Reviews look decent. Might take a sniff around and see what pricing is like. edit: Just dropped a PM to someone on staff to check on the AV stuff. Last edited by WinnipegDragon; January 26th, 2015 at 11:49.. |
