G&G is overall regarded as a good gun manufacturer. To be honest with you though, if you're willing to drop 400$+ on an HK416 look-alike, you might as well drop the extra cash and get THE HK416 by VFC. The gun is gorgeous, with accurate trademarks and excellent finish.
Additionally, I would strongly suggest you to get age verified, giving you access to thousands of classifieds (including HK416's!!) from members of this forum. It will also allow us to link websites for you to look at. In regards to modification/upgrades/etc, I would suggest (your gun doc skills not-withstanding) to use your gun, get a feel for it, and see what you like/don't like about it. There's a saying that everyone around here quotes: If it ain't broken, don't fix it. |

In my mind G&G isn't really comparable to VFC when it comes to the 416 and ARs. VFC externals are a million times better, internals are similar except that the VFC gearbox doesn't suck horribly.
G&G internals would be okay if it weren't for the pneumatic blowback system and their BEYOND SHITTY gearbox shells. I have seen FAR too many G&G gearbox shells crack, as in literally blow the front end right off, for me to recommend them as "good" guns. |

G&G has solved this problem with a block similar to an STS (look it up) which transfers force onto the body instead of the gearbox.
