GHK M4 gbb vs. VFC 417 gbb
Looking at possibly purchasing one of these guns. Ive heard nothing but great things about the M4 ghk. Watched a few you tube vids on the 417 and it looks amazing too.....love the big bolt with lotsa recoil.
Just wondering if anyone had anymore insight on these guns or has one? Cheers |

I have a GHK M4
I am absolultely satisfied with it. It is solid. Our whole team switched over to it. We now use our old stuff as a back up for that just in case moment. I showed my chain of command in my unit .......they were stunned. My Unit was shocked at how solid the GHK M4 felt. They compared it wth the real thing. My Bn is now trying to buy them for training and for PT. You would not be sorry if you went with the GHK. Good luck with what ever you choose. |

there are many other choices for M4 platform, GHK M4 is good but pricy, you are looking at $700+ just for the gun without mags, a mag will cost at least $70, have fun if you have the budget!
417 GBB is even harder to get a piece, there is not even a single retailer in Canada that carry this rifle in stock, that means you will have to custom order a piece outside of the country, which is again very pricy so do speak lol Good luck!

I guess it is not about the gas efficiency of the gun, is all about where you use your gun from your location lol everything with gas is poor in Edmonton since it is a cold place haha

what about plus taxes and shipping? it will easily end up over $700, I am not just talking about the gun itself lol I will have to include the taxes and shipping in my opinion...

He currently has lots of mags on hand. I know that if you want one.......now would be the the time. He was telling me at our local airsoft shop that the factory will switch soon to producing aKs.
I would not sit on it and cheap out. There are a lot of airsofters that have seen and handled it at our local shop. Interest is building fast. Up to you. |

M4 vs 417... completely different guns so kinda hard to compare, one is more a DMR rifle while the other is your bog standard assault rifle, really depends on what you like really.
That said, the GHK M4 is nice, very nice. Runs smooth outta the box after being greased up, doesn't really need anything asides from a stiffer buffer spring as the stock spring is kinda weak which means bolt return is kinda slow. I'd recommend grabbing a Viper Tech buffer spring set if you can find it (I still can't), helps a lot. The only gripe I have with it is the forward hop up adjustment, which is on the bottom of the outer barrel. What that means is you're pretty much stuck with the KAC styled two piece rail, as running any other rail would mean no access to the hop up and since its a GBBR, you usually adjust it on the fly due to temperature, humidity, bb weight, etc... Its fine if you want to keep it as is, with the SOPMOD look or shorten it to a MK18 Mod0 but otherwise, you're better off with a WE M4 if you want to run a "gas in mag" GBB AR/M4 with an aftermarket rail system. Factor in price of mags (~$50x6) and a GBB system is usually more than what you initially expected to spend as most people who decide to pick up a GBBR usually overlook piece of mags, replacement parts, and various other maintenance related stuff. If you've got the Tippy, just stick with it.

i believe they were having a free shipping deal not too long ago. You are right about tax which depends on where you live. Also, you did say "$700+ just for the gun without mags". lol
