kwa rm4 or vfc 416

Hi guys my brother is planning to get one of these,and I know the rm4 is really fun to game with,but which do you guys think would be better overall and why? They are pretty much around same price at around 600 thanks

The VFC 416 is very nice. Hot trades, shoots good out of the box, and is rock solid. Not a wobble to be found everywhere. You won't disappointed with it, I own 2.

The RM4 is interesting but I'm not a fan of front wired guns. If I were buying one, I'd be waiting until they release the rear-wired version announced at shot show last year, although that could be awhile from now.

VFC is the best AEG brand by far. Their internals are very solid and factory shimming isn't terrible. The externals are fantastic quality and hold up to quite the beating. Their trademarks are nice as well. VFC magazine wells accept most brands of magazines too.

KWA is a good brand, but is more picky with magazine compatibility, external quality isn't quite as high, internals are meh, and it's front wired.

Actually, the externals on the PTS RM4 are actually nicer than VFC. Much thicker and heavier receiver. This is coming from a VFC owner.

You really won't be disappointed with either gun. The RM4 has some proprietary parts, but they're good proprietary parts, so it's not much of an issue. The limitation with the RM4 is that you're limited with your rate of fire, if that matters to you. Over 25 rps and sometimes less, the buffer won't return all the way before the next cycle starts.

You can actually fit a much bigger battery in the front of an RM4 than the back of a 416, but front wiring can be a pain to take apart if you aren't careful. The bolt stop feature is really cool too.

Other than that, they have very similar range, accuracy, FPS and reliability potential. You should be happy with either.

I have to agree that you won't be disappointed with either gun. I've got 2 VFC 416's, a VFC 417 and the VFC m27 IAR plus the RM4.

It really depends on your style of play in the end. The RM4 proprietary mags (for bolt stop to work) only holds 60 rounds. That's not a lot compared to most midcaps much less high caps. If he's methodical and is disciplined enough to use semi most of the time and likes the realism of the bolt stop, smaller mags and recoil then the RM4 for sure. If he's more likely to go out and full auto and likes the trades on the 416 then that's the way to go. If possible, have him try both guns.

As a note, ya the RM4 can still use normal mid and high caps but you lose the bolt stop and the gun just keeps firing when the mag is empty. I've really gotten used to that feature, wish it was industry standard.

I would tell your brother to wait for the new RM4 when it becomes rear wired instead of front.

Honestly, the front wiring is not that big an issue. I find it actually balances out the gun nicely due to the recoil weight in the buffer tube. The only battery I wasn't able to fit in the front handguard is the 11.1v 2000mah nunchuck lipo.

True. Only issue I'd see is if you change the rail or add a MOSFET, then real estate is scarce.

I'm sure there is no problem with the current RM4, but for those in the market now, and not needing it ASAP, I would just wait a little longer.

I actually did change the front rail on mine (noveske nsr) and ya, I had to use a peq box for the battery but that's actually fine with me since I like the way it looks

True enough, I don't see the need but ya some (maybe most) would prefer rear wired.

I own a vfc 416, I can't comment much on the internals as mine has been completely reworked. Which was not needed due to failure, but to me simply wanting to upgrade the hell out of it.

The externals are fantastic and very ergonomic.

He won't be disappointed with vfc.
