Dragunov SVD info (AtoZ, King Arms, KM -- all the same)
Well, sort of. It's a semi-review. I have one in my hands (and even painted the bad-looking plasti-wood which turned out pretty well).
No pics yet. This is because I am a lazy, lazy man. Read away. It's easier to update my web page once instead of updating the forum post too so I'll just have a pointer to the page. Should answer some questions about the new spring SVD that has been poking it's head up here and there on different sites for those of us who Accept No Substitutes when it comes to our SVDs! |

Good primer article. Too bad it was damaged in transit as i'd be interested to know some performance stats.
From what you can tell, what kind of upgrade potential does this have?

Nah, that was my G&P SVD. I tell you, if that thing shot as good as it looked no one would be safe anywhere!
As for the upgrade potential - unsure right now. I read somewhere that it uses AEG springs but I'm taking that with a pillar of salt. I'll measure the spring up against an M100 I have in a box here somewhere. The spring that it comes with seems pretty beefy though. Would be interesting to know what it chronos at. |

The manufacturer's site states quite clearly that it uses AEG springs.

On the plus side, makes upgrading easy peasy, on the down side, it'd be a bitch to have to cock a bloody PDI250% or something obnoxious like that.... MMM SVD with a tightbore and a PDI190%...... *grins*... Just somethin' about that Dragunov... so sexy.

UPDATED my review page! I now have some info about performance! (Updates on the page in RED headers)
One thing that isn't on the page is the fact that I have noticed BBs binding up, preventing feeding and removal of the magazine. HOWEVER I cannot lay this at the manufacturer's doorstep at this point because my magazine and magwell were damaged in transit, and subsequently repaired by me. It's quite possible I was off a little. Still, a great gun. If you have a thing for the SVD and don't mind a spring cocking gun, pick it up! If you are serious about scopes, though -- budget for a real one. The knockoff is good for looks and that's it. I wouldn't pay more than 20-30$ for it and I'm not being bitter -- just honest. It is not a quality optic. It does mostly look the part though. And the eye relief is goggles-friendly. But that's as far as the good points go. |
