WE Hi-CAPA 5.1 slide catch
Hello all,
New gun, old problem! After a dozen or so uses, the slide catch on my WE 5.1 simply falls out of the lower receiver assembly when cocking or cycling the action. It just appears to be advanced premature wear on the pin. Is there an aftermarket mod to replace this pin with something more sturdy and less prone to such accelerated wear? Everything else is working just fine! Very happy with a solid and reliable gun. With this one little exception, it's excellent quality for its price! Inter arma enim silent leges |

In my experience with WE pistols it's not the pin that wears out but the slide catch itself. The pin usually eats through it within a short time because the metal, as with the rest of the gun, is so soft and of low quality. The slide catch will become useless and the gun will not lock back when the magazine runs out of ammo and can fall out, so you might want to change it as soon as possible. Either try to get a stock Tokyo Marui slide catch for cheap or get an upgrade one, likes a Nova or a Nine Ball, but those are quite expensive.
If you are certain that there is no wear on the slide catch, then changing the pin and spring is rather cheap, with kits such as this: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/action-re...m1911-gbb.html Another possibility is that the spring for the pin is not strong enough, you can try to gently spread it to make it a bit longer, it will push the pin with more strength and could fix the problem.
