Condor MOPC - Opinions?

I've been offered a trade for a Condor MOPC.

However, I've heard quite a bit of good and a lot of bad regarding the MOPC Plate Carrier.

What are your opinions on the Conderp? Will it fall apart? Is it good enough quality for Airsofting use? General quirks/things to know?

Good enough for airsoft? Yes.

Good enough for heavier use and some stress? Absolutely not.

Condor pouches are okay, however I've seen, experienced and heard nothing but terrible things about the vests falling apart fairly quickly when met with any extended use or physical stress. If you want your gear to be reliable I personally wouldn't touch Condor with a 40 foot cattle prod.

I'd say if it's worth (on the used market) more than what you've got up for trade if might be worth it, but I personally wouldn't use one. It's like a bad attempt at reproducing an LBT 6094.

What are you planning on exchanging for it?

IMO, I used to own one but sold it because I didn't like how big it felt. Quality was 7/10 at best, some of the MOLLE wasn't stitched evenly, and there was some fraying from moderate use on the cheap velcro and stitching along the seams. Like hot_shot mentioned, it'll be fine for airsoft. I opted for a Shellback Banshee & will never look back, but still use the Conderp pouches because I'm a broke university student.

condor is good enough gear to last long enough until you want to change your setup.


I've had my black condor zip vest for 3 seasons now and it holds up just fine. I use it quite a bit.I've rolled around in the dirt with it, snagged it on stuff, been shot in the zipper... hasn't given out anywhere.

The only complaint I had was when I got it the zipper wasn't stitched in very well at the base where you join the 2 halves of the zipper... I just hotglued it into place and it hasn't let go since.

I used to own one. It's alright, a couple of the loops on the molle were off spec. Biggest complaint is how heavy it is. I'm talking just the plate carrier with nothing else on it.

As an elitist geardo myself (Systema, Crye, HSGI, etc) I've also owned two Condor plate carriers in the past, and several Condor pouches. They're made with genuine Crye Cordura, triple stitched, and to spec. They were comfortable, well made, and lasted years and years. My primary complaints would be, they are heavier than they need to be, and there's really not a lot of personality to them. They're fairly basic, but will do the job.

I agree that Condor used to be fairly good. However quality has dipped as of late. Looking at the plate carriers (Specifically the MOPC) they advertise it as being 1000D Cordura. It is certainly NOT 1000D, more like 330D. Their pouches are infact 1000D, however that is not the case for the plate carrier.

I also dislike the fact that they use folded cordura instead of webbing on the carriers they have. Personally I felt discouraged and found that I would not perform to the best of my abilities and tended to slow down whenever I used Condor in the past. Now that I'm running with the Crye/LBT/Eagle/HSGI/BFG gang I trust my gear FAR more.

If you can, I would advise going with a Flyye or better yet LBT 6094A as a substitute for the Condor MOPC. The MOPC is in the end a heavier, odd looking 6094 clone anyway.

I'd stay away from Flyye, it's over priced in my opinion, though decently made for replica. Cordura has moved to 500D for weight. Many companies have gone this route, including Crye, High Ground, Mayflower, etc. I know for a fact that the Condor Cyclone uses 500D.

I feel like this can't be reiterated enough, buy a genuine Lbt 6094. They're comfortable, they work and you literally will never have to buy another pc (they have a lifetime warranty).

Regardless of the overall material it is made of (1000D, 330D, 500D, etc) Doesn't make up for its utterly poor stitching jobs, and lack of mil-spec thread. I've personally experienced, and seen stuff fall apart with little use. I'd avoid Condor.

The PC I'm trading is a WSH of unknown make (several people have told me it looks like a Pantac but several other people have told me that it looks like an OETech or Condor MPS).

I definitely do not have the cash right now to get real steel gear, but I definitely wish. If I had the $160 I'd be getting an Eagle CIRAS from my friend but as it stands, I'm broke.

I agree that condor doesn't compare to higher end real steel stuff.

My tas tiger rig fully loaded weighs next to nothing, my black condor vest just with pouches probably weighs more than my tas rig, but if condor is all you can afford at the moment and you need something, then it will fill the void till you can afford something nicer.

Chances are too, you're going to play for a while, and get to know what you like and don't like, and it's a great opportunity to try different things before you put money into something nicer like shellback or lbt... out of the gate lbt is super pricey, and you may not even like a full plate carrier after wearing it for a while. You'll lose less money changing your mind on a setup with condor than with lbt.

How about the LBX-0094? Very similar to the Lbt-6094 but much cheaper.
