sorry, should have put in a description.

they're both aegs. the one with stock is the G&P Troy Battle 9, and the stockless AR is an ICS QD4.

the pistol is a KWC Taurus PT99 CO2 blowback.

forgive my ignorance, but what does a buffer tube do?

A GBBR would require a buffer tube, Wilkie.

A buffer tube on an AR is where the bolt moves into during the blow back (or when you rack the gun), to chamber a round and cock the hammer.
That ICS gun is a "concept" gun, and would not work with a real M4.

I can show you on my GBBR at the TTAC game.

That G&P is beautiful, though.

Only in airsoft where we can have AR's with no buffers! I do like that AR15 on the left though, looks mean!

Oh no, I've been found out! Lol Ive yet to get into GBBR, but that's good to know

Ya, some states have banned certain furnature on ARs, such as stocks, so they have AR "pistols", pretty much regular ARs with short stubby buffer tubes, which can't except a stock.

Lots of newer weapons, like the Scar and ACR weapon systems, although visually similar to AR15s, use a different set of internals which allow for folding stocks.

I thought most things were new in the Special Forces? Correct me if I'm wrong but they seem to be the hipsters of the Armed Forces when it comes to new stuff. >.>

Sorry, you're right. I should clarify that your typical AR bolt carrier group requires a buffer tube, hehe.
