Miracle Barrels
Hello ASC,
At TAC 14 I encountered an individual who purchased a Miracle 6.20 barrel. He claimed it was vastly superior to most Tight-Bore-barrels. Who amongst you have experience with this product? Is it worthy of the hype and praise? Does it require specific Hop chamber/bucking? If you have the info, please let me know.

Multiple threads already exists on the subject
Search for ORGA Magnus on ASC A newer thread was created also about Prometheus that released the "same thing" too |

My bad. Searched the term "miracle" and didn't find it. Thanks.

There was a barrel released under the name Miracle.
http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/...se&catid=&cat= Word (and testing) is, it sucked. Terribly. The Prometheus 6.20, assuming the transition between the insert and the barrel is done right, could be promising. |

Miracle barrels are 6.06mm in diameter and they have a lifter to raise the bb

This video goes into the physics of the miracle barrel quite nicely.
I would consider buying one based off of this information. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Wa6ID6l5E Hope this helps.

That video proves nothing. A single kill at a certain distance is a fluke. You're looking for consistent results, not a one off hit. I got a kill at 300 feet on my first shot with my M14. It was a fluke. I'm not going to use that to preach that my M14 is the most accurate thing ever.
Also, a kill at 220 feet is nothing. You can easily do that with a decent hop up on a stock barrel. The trough in a Miracle barrel does more harm than good. Ever wonder why they all have white residue on them? BECAUSE THEY DEFORM EVERY SINGLE BB THAT PASSES THROUGH. Sure it helps centre the BB down the barrel, but if you have any decent hop up setup that does the same thing, the insert becomes obsolete. The quality of the bore on a Miracle barrel is average. Not an improvement over a stock barrel. Hell some stock barrels are actually better. Quote:

I put a 510 mm miracle barrel in a stock G&G M14 EBR and tested it in the back yard recently. I haven't taken it to a field yet but over approximately 75' I was able to hit a golf ball sized target 10 out of 10 shots and the BB's took an identical trajectory and flight path every time. These were .32 Bioshots and I have a Maple Leaf 80 degree bucking on the barrel. I look forward to testing the consistency over more realistic Airsoft engagement distances but I'm encouraged by this small test.
As a point of reference, my VFC M4 with a 6.03 Prommy tight bore and an R-Hop was about 75% as accurate over the same distance.

You're not getting nearly the efficiency you should be getting out of that barrel. You stock full cylinder has nowhere near the air volume necessary to use a 6.20 barrel 20" long.
I'm also able to hit golf balls at 75' consistently with my PTW and it doesn't have any innovation in it's barrel that aeg barrels don't have. In fact, I've made and seen a few Rhopped, and even normal hop rubber (PDI-W and firefly) prometheus barrels hit golf balls consistently at that range as well. If they REALLY understood the physics, they'd know the shape and features of a barrel don't affect accuracy nearly as much as a hop rubber does, or BB quality. The inconsistencies you get testing individual barrels aren't necessarily from the barrels, but far more likely a result of inconsistencies in the hop rubber. Someone test 5 miracle barrels with Rhops against 5 prometheus barrels with Rhops and then we'll take the results seriously. I've seen too many people swear by a barrel who's performance was obviously a result of their hop rubber to take single test results seriously. |

I believe the barrel is 6.06. At any rate if you couldn't hit that size of a target with a $2000 rifle I would be very disappointed.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: unless you're comparing apples to apples, results don't mean a thing.
What I mean is this: You need to take the SAME lower receiver/mechbox and mate it to IDENTICAL hop-up rubbers, units and barrel length, varying only the hop-up system or barrel brand and test this out using a VERY consistent BB brand in an indoor environment of at least 150feet distance. If you have access to such a facility, PM me and I'll be glad to bring everything we have access to, to conclusively close this discussion once and for all, because at the end of the day, quantitative results will always stand the test of time. Saying: "My 509mm Miracle barrel SVD outshoots my 300mm R-hop Prometheus M4 in an outdoor, uncontrolled test" means nothing. Circling back to the topic of this thread - Miracle barrels are brass. Your stock barrel is brass. Brass oxidizes over time and guess what happens when you have a plastic projectile rolling through a rough, oxidized surface? I'm not trying to vouch for anything but simply relating the very unscientific experiment that I conducted.
I would find a controlled experiment very valuable and I'm sure that I'm not alone.
