erg or brss?

I'm looking at getting an aeg with recoil and at first I was looking at a TM scar h but they are hard to find, shoot low fps for field play and are bloody expensive. So I've seen plenty of reviews on the kwa rm4 and the bolt b4 sopmod and I'm hoping there is someone here who has handled both and can tell me which is better in their opinion. I like the locking bolt, cut off and magpul stock on the kwa but I like the look of the recoil and bolt movement on the bolt b4 sopmod and the fact that I can add an aftermarket rail to the front. So if anyone can tell me if there is a clear cut winner here I'd like to here your thoughts or if you have another suggestion for a great electric recoil airsoft gun.
Thanks.
Derek.

Wait for the 2014 RM4, its rear wired so you can put on any rail you want. There's a thread below this one with more info.

Honestly, I don't think you'll really notice the bolt movement on the B4 when you're shooting. KWA has the bolt lock you want if you use their proprietary mags while the B4 only has the recoil. Other option, go gas.

Don't get the KWA, the Bolt's are probably the best EBB's on the market now. They have rear wired versions out already, and their internals are extremely solid.

I got a BOLT and really liked it. Then I checked out a RM4 and I really liked it. The difference is the kwa has almost the same amount of kick no matter what your cycling speed is but it also mainly kicks forwards. The bolt kicks backwards but can be slower or faster based on your cycle speed. There are more features on the kwa that are nice but I'm still happy with my bolt. The main reason I got the bolt was for rear wiring. Now that kwa has that I'd probably go kwa over bolt if I had to buy again, but I won't be getting rid of my bolt for a kwa.

Does Bolt stop firing on the last round and feeds all rounds in the mag?

There's no bolt hold/lock on the B4 at all. It just keeps going when you run out of bb's.

That kills the appeal for me - it's basically a vibrating AEG to me at that point.

That having been said, the ERG's bolt-lock mechanism seemed a bit flimsy to me - it relies on a proprietary 0.5mm thick pot-metal bar riding under the mechbox.

I have the bolt and can say it has a great feel. the recoil on mine is crisp, not just a vibration. It feels as strong as any gbbr i've fired. Internals are good quality and highly compatible. It doesn't stop firing when out of ammo but uses ALL m4/16 mags that I have. it requires at least a good, FULL 9.6 to fire. I run an 11.1 lipo. I haven't fired the kwa but I did check them out. They feel really solid, nice receiver but feels a little wide. The thing I found out with them(apparently) is you can use SOME other mags if you don't care about the stop fire when out, but some of them just won't stop firing at all! I personally could care less about that much realism so I went with the bolt and I'm very happy with it.

With the Bolt gun can you pull the charging handle and lock the bolt back for hop up adjustment or do you have to hold it back to adjust it?

You have to hold it back. Also I forgot to mention that with the bolt the fake bolt moves back and forth with the recoil but it bends itself out of shape with normal use and gets stuck. Note this is just the visual effect of blowback and not the effect you feel. The buffer is what you feel and works fine. I just disabled the fake bolt, it's pretty easy.
Edit: I spoke with 007 a few months ago when I first noticed this issue, and they had already been in contact with Bolt trying to come up with a solution. Perhaps the new gen ones will be fine.

Thanks for the input. From all that I've seen this decision isn't any easier. I would say right now that if the kwa shot 400 fps out of the box I would choose it, it seems to have an edge in quality but the bolt has the edge in recoil and power and maybe in rate of fire. I don't know what I'm going to do yet bit I guess I'm slightly leaning to kwa because of the reputation of quality that comes with that name.

Not sure why you need it to shoot 400 fps since its more of a limit than a goal. The RM4 scout has a higher fps according to KWA (370-390fps) than the RM4 CQB and that fps range should be fine for games. Higher fps doesn't necessary equate to higher accuracy or range so attaining that 400 fps limit doesn't really mean much.

I'm aware that it doesn't make much of a difference but hitting moving targets is easier with a higher fps and less velocity is lost when using a higher gram bb. am leaning to the scout because its power I know is more than capable I just like to pack as much punch as I can.

My bolt is very accurate. She's firing over 400fps (out of box) and grouping is very tight, (about quarter size grouping, both on semi and auto at 40'-in basement). Chain link fence post easy shot at just under 100' with little to no wind. I've only toyed around with it as I play outdoors and it's -50c with windchill these days however I suspect hop will be very stable considering the style of hop they used.

Yeah, my Bolt shot about 405 out of the box.
