Echo1 XCR issue
Good day everybody,
Got this issue that has me pulling what's left of my hair off. The Echo1 XCR uses a split mechbox, ICS style. I'm not familiar with this, but still... The issue I have is that the gun will fire in FA and then seize up. The motor still wants to turn, but something is stuck. Now I did a bit of research and tried or verified some things before posting, namely : -The motor works fine, it spins the lower easily when the upper is removed. -The lower gearbox spins fine, I have not touched the shiming. -Motor height adjustment is good. -The piston slide freely in the upper, with the spring removed, and with it. -AOE is ok Now, before I dismantle the lower GB, if somebody who has encountered this problem could shed some light, it would be much appreciated. Thanks, |

i've 2 vfc xcr
try another motor. you might have a faulty motor. |

Did you change out the spring or the spring guide? my brother had a similar issue when he bought a new spring guide that was infact a little bit longer not by much but it was enough that the motor did not have enough power to pull the spring all the way back but the weird thing was it would fire maybe 10 shots full auto then seize like your saying as stubborn as he is he re built 3 different guns with that spring guide cause he didnt want to throw away something he paid for haha I would first try a more powerful motor if you have one or maybe give a stronger battery a go

I have a very limilar problem with my ICS M4.
Didn't spent much time working on it yet. But I suspect it's a combinaison of weak motor, too large spring guide (mine is a non-bearing one with a VERY large base), and cut-off lever acting up. |

Piston gear had broken tooth. New piston gear in = same results... It's a Systema motor, so definitely not original. I'll test with another one. |

All right, different motor in :
Goes for between 10 and 20 cycles in FA then stops, mid-cycle. WTF ? Edit : Tried a 9.6V. once it seizes, I can see it trying to pull the spring back, bit by bit, but the battery heats up. Pfff... |

Bearings or bushings?
Sounds like dead bearings and at one point they seize and prevent proper rotation, or allows the gears to move and bind together. |

I don't think so. Bushings, and with the upper removed, everthing is spinning smoothly.

does the piston by itself in the upper slide freely in the rails?

But bushings don't usually so that. I would go with bad motor too. Try that first and see. |

I've had a couple guns do similar stuff.. usually related to electrical for sure, but since you're hesitant to open the lower, I'd drop in a new motor to test anyways, as well as any mechanical resistance in the upper half.

I'm not hesitant, I just wanted to avoid it after changing the broken piston gear. Without upper it spins freely. As soon as upper is installed it goes for 10-20 cycles then jams.
I thought aoe, but this would cause it to jam on first cycle I think. Envoyé de mon SGH-M919V en utilisant Tapatalk |

Still sounds to me like you dont have enough power to pull it back I just had a similar issue in my mp5 I built the gearbox with all upgrade parts that were working in my m4 once I got it all back together I pulled the trigger and it didnt even cycle once pulled the spring half way back and seized I thought that my ARL was jamming or something was fucked so I opened it didnt see anything wrong put it back together and same thing, swapped motor for a more powerful one and it works perfect. Was your gun working fine and then you got this issue or was it after you changed something? I am leaning towards your motor being shot but wouldnt replace it until you know 100% if you dont have a stronger motor to try id ask around and see if you can borrow someones to diagnose your gun. If it is your motor id recommend the Lonex A1 infinite torque up and high speed by far the best motor I have ever used |
