Low profile goggles with glasses

So, apparently i'm blind enough to need glasses, so i'm now needing to get new eyepro. I always just used wraparound shooting glasses and wasn't really ever a fan of goggles.

My primary is a SG550, so I need something that I can still have a close cheekweld with, what are my options?

Thanks!

I've never run an SG, but I use ESS Profile NVG's with my M4, doesn't affect my cheekweld at all.

there are actually a few wrap around glasses which you can attach RX inserts into.

Goggles haven't worked a damn for me in the past two years that i've tried to adapt to them.. i'm a full time glasses wearer, and my combination of eye issues have precluded the use of contact lenses

I've just recently picked up the Revision Sawfly shooting glasses, and the rx insert that attachs inside from ehobbyasia. I've got an optometrist appointment to get an updated rx next week (it's been more than a few years..) and i'll be set up for them within two weeks. My optometrist has already consulted with someone involved in competitive shooting to identify the rx variances between this, and a regular set of lens for mounting in glasses. Apparently, there are some differences.

I plan to use them not only for airsoft - but for motorcycling also, as eye-pro.

I'll report on the results, if that is worth any value in making your decision.

ESS sells the URX prescription insert kit that allows for use on the ESS glasses and goggle as well as compatibility with the Oakley SI glasses and goggles.

I have ESS Profile NVGs and ICE 2.4s and, as stated above, they both use the same inserts.

In a different style (sealed glasses), the Pyramex V2Gs also have Rx inserts available. They're lower profile than the ESS ICEs, a bit like skydiving glasses.

@Coach: G&G and JG have a 550; TM use to have one, too, but it got discontinued years ago.

I have wiley x RX inserts, and I dont like them.

I use crews stykers, very low profile goggles that you can still get glasses inside, and still wear a ball hat too!

Hmm, thanks for the replies guys. Answered a lot of things for me. I may try getting RX inserts for next year, but i'm pretty interested in those crews strykers... Where can I get those? And how much do they normally run for?

Edit: Did some searching, huh. Seems pretty low cost. I'll give them a try, and if not. I'll see about getting RX inserts.

ESS ICE with Rx inserts all the way!

For when i need full seal, I have a set of ESS turbofan goggles. I had to cut the seal so that the arm of my glasses don't get smushed onto my face (only about 1/2 inch cut) but these are the only goggles i have found that can be worn over my everyday glasses that don't fog.
Note: when i wear goggles over my glasses, its not the goggle that fogs, but my glasses.

Might want to look at this thread too, which is pretty much the same thing, pretty old, but similar answers.
