Whats the better GUN?
Im looking to buy one of the following guns and i wanted to hear from the masses and vets on what you would choose and why? Also i dont think its a huge factor but the gun will be used to play in a forest type environment. there are lots of trails and openings but just incase this changes your opinion on the gun i thought id mention it.
So heres what im looking at and other suggestion are welcome but if you reccomend one of the list please try to keep it same price bracket and also canadian available. * ICS 552 Cammando * Aftermath M4A1 (Kirenex police AEG) * SRC M933 * Lucid LM4A1 * G&G M4 Carbine * G&G UMG Combo Cant wait to see what wins 1st place and why?! :salute: |

I would recommend the G&G M4 in that list because of the upgradability compared to the other choices. I don't have experience with the ICS 552, but the Aftermath M4 is just a cheap chinese gun with a plastic body. No clue about the Lucid M4, but for the price of that, you can get much better.

G&G M4 or UMG
The M4's are marui spec, which means easily upgradeable, and you'll get the most out of the upgrades. I had a UMG myself, shooting a mere 280fps and still did 140ft outdoors, they're pretty solid guns. |

G&G, or preferably VFC. Both taiwanese, good externally and internally. Great after market customer support.

stop looking at buy airsoft. lucid guns are plastic and there are much better priced options outside of g&g in canada. your googlefu is weak if those are all the options you can find.
There's absolutely no reason to get a plastic body gun anymore unless it's given to you free or you absolutely cannot afford it, but if you can't afford the gun, you're going to have issues affording gear. Of the brands you listed, g&g is the better brand, but overall they are just an average maybe above average brand. The ics sig (and any other sig outside the 556) can be trouble finding more mags and pouches to hold mags. Same with the umg. The mags are really long and they're difficult to work with in finding a place on gear to put them. Guns with mags that aren't AK or m16 mags tend to cost more longer term if you calculate harder to find mags and sometimes nonexsistant pouches (or super expensive for both) If you are trying to save money on a gun purchase, then you need to consider mags and pouches at the same time.

Don't go on Buy Airsoft. The guns are overpriced and who want a plastic body anymore? You dont need to search hard to find other place to buy, Google is your friend!! I would tell you to get Age Verified, a lot of player have stuff to sell and they will tell you where to buy want you desire. (We can't tell to non-verified members where to buy guns, politic of this forum)

@OP: Definitely get metal bodied.
To balance out a bit of the Buyairsoft hate; to be fair they recently were pretty on the ball about someones stock BASR breaking in the first 50 shots and it seemed like they were getting some warranty/RMA stuff done with that.

I wouldn't say put them at the bottom of the list or not buy anything from them... just explore all the options before making a choice.
I've bought something from them this year, granted I had to buy 2 of it to make their shipping price justifiable. lol.

Another budget m4 to consider: G&P canadian carbine. Good base to build upon.

I should amend the statement a bit; The classic furniture G&Ps are, and always have been, inexpensive. If you want a RIS or anything, $500+ Back in the day it was $500 for a G&P M16A3, $750 for a G&P M4 RISII You could probably import an M16A3 yourself for ~$320, and the RISII for ~$450 Which is unfortunately considered expensive by todays standards... These days kids pay $150 for a cyma P.O.S. M4 and complain about it sucking and breaking all the time. Back in my day we paid $650 for a CA M4 with a RIS, and LOVED IT despite the fact it sucked and broke down all the time. |
